We transfered to Shreveport and were nervous about starting a new school. We feel that we have been blessed to have our 3 sons attend Riverside. The teachers and principal sincerely care about the students. I have been very invlolved as a parent and parent involvement is always encouraged. It is such a huge relief knowing that I am dropping my sons off in the morning at a school that provides great learning and has the best interest of my sons at heart. Riverside is Grade A+.
Riverside has been a great school for us for the past three years. I have no complaints with the principal. My only complaint was with the school counselor. She would not return phone calls, I requested a conference and never received a reply and also sent emails to her and she replied six weeks later with an answer that had nothing to do with the question that I ask. She was helpless....Im excited to see that we have a new counselor this year. I hope that she will be helpful if needed for any reason.
We actually have been going to riverside now for 3 yrs. I had one issue so far and that's it. Matter of fact, I didn't even have an appointment but the office staff was wonderful and let me wait. They took thier time and listened while I went on and on. Ha ha they immediately took care of the situation and it has been wonderful. I could not ask for a better school. As far as the comment about the principal, I'm so excited she has made the changes. I feel as if my child is safe. I do not worry that when we drop her off, and we feel the principal is very involved. Thanks riverside for being such a wonderful school.
We have been at Riverside for 2 years and we love it!! The teachers and all other staff are top notch. They do all they can to challenge all the children and make sure they are learning all they can. I know my daughter is cared for and safe the entire time she is at school. Because Riverside is small, it is truly a family environment. They know each child and parents are encouraged to visit. I could not be happier.
Wonderful, Great, A+ school. I love Riverside. We are moving to another state and I am so sad that we will be leaving Riverside. I have no complaints at all. Keep up the great work. Thank you Mrs. Joffrion and Mrs. Epps.
My daughter just graduated from Riverside and I want to say that she was more than prepared to enter middle school. The teachers and staff were kind and caring. The high expectations of doing your best and making good choices helped my daughter to become a wonderful student. The principal was always out and about expecially in the mornings and afternoons making sure everyone arrived and departed safely. Thank you Riverside for 6 wonderful years.
We have just started our second year at Riverside (1st grade this year), and I want to say that it is a great comfort to me, every morning, to be able to drive away and KNOW that my little girl is well taken care of and safe at Riverside. Everything is well organized! The teachers, as well as the office staff, are wonderful and caring and present a family atmosphere to anyone who is willing to accept it. The PTA is really great. I am extremely pleased with what my daughter has learned in kindergarten and look forward to her accomplishments in first grade and in years to come. This is a great school. I have never been made to feel unwelcome by anyone at the school. I would highly recommend this school to anyone, especially parents who want to see their child(ren) succeed and be happy. We Love Riverside!
I was a bit surprised to read the more recent comments about Riverside and the new principle. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but I do not think that the new principle has created a wall or pushed the parents out. I do think that things have become more stringent when picking up and dropping off your child, but quite frankly, I prefer it that way. I do not want people walking up to the school having access to my child. I also worried about the disorganization of how you picked up and dropped your child off with the last principle. I watched small children crossing the street where the buses ran with very little or no supervision. Now it's more stringent, but also a lot more safe. As far as the office staff, it's the same staff we've had for years. The teachers are all still great, and quite frankly it's hard to argue with the excellent test scores coming out of this school
I have been disappointed with Riverside over the last 2 years since the new principle has taken over. It is like she has created a fortress around the school that keeps parents out. The office staff is also very unfriendly, which makes parents feel as if they are intruding. On the other hand, the school does have great teachers and they seem to care about the students.
Riverside is an excellent school. The teachers and administration are wonderful to work with. The school has grown in population a lot since my kids started 4 years ago. My kids love the school and are happy to be there.
