My daughter started attending GT Lindon in November. In 2 months her behavior, grades and conduct have improved by 100%. I didn't think it would make this big of a difference in her behavior but I guess the teacher and enviroment make all the difference.

Both of my children completed their elementary education here. The physical plant leaves a lot to be desired, though you must overlook this and your child will receive a great education! The teachers work together well and pass useful information on from one year to the next. The strong focus on literacy from kindergarten has helped both of our children become good readers ... which has made them better students. We have now moved out of state and I find my kids 'on target' or ahead of other students in the new 'high performing' school they are attending. I highly recommend GT Lindon ... hopefully they will get some funding from the school board to update the physical plant.

Overall, for the state of LA, this is a good public school. The majority of teachers are excellent. Luckily, my son has had great communicative teachers that have challenged him. Parent involvement is great, however, I have found that unless you get to know the right people in PTA, or get to know the administration well, you will feel left out of the loop. The communication to parents that are unable to attend PTA meetings, field trips, etc. is poor. I think the children could be pushed to a higher level in academics, music, and art. We should be involved in more parish sport leagues such as Hershey Track. The portable buildings need to be replaced and a gym or general assemble area is badly needed. Due to space limitations, award ceremonies are a nightmare, there is simply not room for the students and parents in the 'lunch/class/theatre room'

I thought the academics at this school moved rather slow. It seems like a lot of time was wasted on field trips, parties & what-not. I also feel that the staff did not communicate well with me on certain issues.

My child had a great Kindergarten teacher & this school had a great open door policy. However, I was disappointed in the lack of communication when discipline was administered. My child recieved detention for a first offense & when I sent a letter of complaint to the principal, Ms Boone called me back with a totally different story than what I got from the recess teacher, the detention report & her classroom teacher. I feel as if the story was changed to protect & back up the teacher who gave my child detention & to avoid further confrontation with me, the parent. From that point on I had difficulties trusting the administration. Overall, it was a good school.

I have two kids in this school. I sometimes question how fast these kids are expected to learn things. Some of the teachers are not very helpful and some are. I have struggled with my son's teachers since he started this school. Each year he has had alot of substitute teachers each year putting his learning behind. This year is pretty good and a caring teacher. My daughter has had good success even though she is a year behind. I agree that there are too many field trips, even for third grade.

I believe that Green T. Lindon is by far one of the best shcools I have ever come across. Being an active parent myself, I think our school has a phemonenal amount of parental involvement! The leadership is just fantastic. Mrs.Cahee and Mrs.Boone are top notch, and the students agree. The teachers blow me away on a daily basis, and the kids absolutly love them. I've come across visitors who are impressed with our environment compared to other schools. Although our physical school building may not be the most beautiful or brand new, our technology and love for learning make up for that. If you really want to know about it, ask a student, they would tell you they love it...honest!

I have one child @ GTL. He has been there since Kindergarden. Overall I think the school is wonderfull except when it comes to protecting children from bullies. My child has been a victim of bullying since the 2nd grade, he has even had to have stitches. Nothing has been done this is why he is still a victim. When he decides to take up for himself this is when they will do something about ut.

I currently have 1 child at Lindon but have had 2 others before. I am impressed with the level of teaching and the high expectations. However, I am not impressed with the parent communications regarding discipline, nor am I impressed with the numerous field trips the second grade went on when my son was in school.
