Teacher effectiveness: Ineffective
June 01, 2015
There are only a small number of teachers that are effective, others try to push rules down their throats and expect it to be a great learning environment while not forming any report with the kids.

Amount of homework: Too much
June 01, 2015
When homework takes up all the little bit of family time you have with your kids through the week day there is no room for anything else.

What determination? My child has worked their tail off for every grade they get. However now that is being taken from my child because they conveniently lose test scores and now my child's test is like it never happened.

Develops respect: Strongly disagree
June 01, 2015
They only respect the kids whose parents that can afford a good lawyer. Its not what you know its who you know or who you are related to in that school that is respected.

Their way of dealing with bullying is to basically suck it up. You are not allowed to defend yourself to a bully, you are not allowed to say your side of the story at all.

Farrington school is a true haven for my kid. They also offer great ESL classes with an outstanding commitment from Ms Robin Wilkinson for kids learning growth. The staff Ms Morgan is very nurturing and always taken great care of my kid. If you are looking to keep your children out of the element other schools are plagued by, then check out this little school! We are moving to Texas, we hope we get see the staff like Ms Robin and Ms Morgan there too.

Farrington is an amazing school with absolutely wonderful teachers! My son has done so well from day one...we have never had a complaint. When my son did have an issue the principal took extra messures to make sure my son felt comfortable. They go above and beyond what anyone could possibly expect from them.

In the midst of difficult contract negotiations for teachers who have been underappreciated in this district, the current principal has done an amazing job of maintaining morale among the teachers at Farrington. They are great educators by themselves, but even more so because they have great leadership and support by the principal.

I never thought I would say this about Farrington but I have become increasingly disappointed in how the schools atmoshpere has become. Administration has become over involved trying to dictate children's choices in clothes, food, and experiences. They have enforced food regulations that are ridiculous (no packaged foods, granola bars, cereal bars etc.) There are also so many behavior issues now that the average or above average child is getting lost in the shuffle while teachers and admin. deal with the 'below average' or trouble children. There are twice as many 'rules' as there were two years ago but some how they now have twice as many behavior issues. Maybe to many rules=more behavior problems. There are relatively no extracurricular activities, sports programs are non existent in the school program. On a positive note, 95% of the teachers at Farrington are amazing and dedicated individuals. They are maintaining the school.
