There are a few teachers who will take the time to really listen/talk with you regarding your child, usually the same ones who connect well with the kids. The principal gives too much authority to teachers with serious power and control issues, who use threats and scare tactics to manipulate the kids. Unfortunately, the majority of the time you will only be contacted when there is a "problem", whoa to the child with a mind of their own. I've taught my children that respect is earned and someone who mistreats you does not deserve your respect, regardless of who they are - Don't preach it, if you don't practice it. - As for parent involvement, it's more like a H.S click, you are either in or you are irrelevant, regardless of how much effort you make to be involved. I am anxious for my child to be out of this school.

I do not like this school. Most of the teachers in but one in the 8th Grade especially have power control issues. Seriously consider changing school districts.

Horrible school, teachers are very uninvolved, after school activites are not to the students interests, and the art, music, and drama activities are very poor.

Academics standards at TWKDMS are always high. The school is one that did not make the state's failing list. I doubt that you could find another school the size of TWKDMS that offers more music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities. The new principal has shown great leadership.

Teacher staff not the best in the state. Supervise kids more than teach kids. School doesn't focus enough on the core of education. If I could afford to buy a house elsewhere I would just change school districts. Students get depressed because they don't have teachers that show they want to teach the students. They expect the students to learn on their own. I don't know why they call them teachers.

I'll have to disagree with the 'depressed' and 'poor teacher leadership' I have had 2 children that have attended TWKDMS and a third child is currently attending. I find the teachers very involved with their students, and concerned with each student's progress. The school offers many activities during and after school through sports, drama, music, etc. There is a counselor on hand if any child is having emotional issues. If there is any child that is bored, depressed, having difficulties with classes, the parent needs to get involved and ask for help. There are several professionals on hand that will assist in any way needed.

Very depressed kids at this school. Teachers have issues with leadership. Not a good learning experience. Many things need to change before you send your child there.
