We have 2 children in this school district after having gone here ourselves. District has strong sports and music programs, both with huge support from booster groups and the community. Communication with teachers we have encountered at the high school has been mixed - some don't respond to emails after getting a "read receipt" that they have read them; others respond fully and are eager to help. Lots of opportunities for students to explore, both academically and extracurricular. Yes, there are "thugs" in the area - what school/city doesn't have them. As far as the locking of the entrances, all the schools are doing it - thanks to 9/11 and Columbine. I like knowing people who don't belong in the schools aren't getting in. .

This school is not a good school. Thugs run the community and the good kids live in fear. The school's teachers allow these thugs to run the school and do not stand up to them. Drugs run wild in the student population and the administration knows it but does nothing to stop it. They run out any teacher that trys to help the kids in need, through lies and pressure.

This is a decent school, but it is becoming more and more like a prison then a learning environment... Special doors have been installed and the only way to get inside of the school is to buzz in with the office. All classroom doors are locked at all times and when a student leaves the room they must shut the door behind them and to get in they have to loudly knock on the door interrupting classtime.. Teachers are kind, but many are too laid back, allowing innapropriate behavior that can effect the learning process of some students. The lunches provided at the school are great. Overall this school gets my rating of 2 stars...

This is a very good school for kids to achieve at. They have all the tools to do well, they just choose not to.
