Mount St. Joseph High School

Mount Saint Joseph is an excellent High School for any young man. The Principle is outstanding. He is very involved in all aspects of the school. He sets a high standard for learning and discipline. Our son has thrived at MSJ. As parents we highly recommend this school.

Terrible experience with Brian Murphy, Dean of Student affairs. Bullies students, ask inappropriate questions of students. It's a matter of time before parents figure him out. Glad my son graduated. Thank God but no thanks to him. Once he targets your son, Murphy uses other students to bully the kid. The principle a nice guy but apparently helpless to interceed. You get the feeling this guy want to hurry and retire leaving the hanging job to Murphy.

Cannot say enough good things about Mt. St. Joseph. Our son travels over an 1hour to attend this top notch Catholic boy's school. It is an excellent choice and a great investment in your son!

My son hated school. He did a shadow day last fall. Came out and told me 'the teachers respect you here. I want to go here'. He has been there for 2 months and already can see my boy becoming a Man! He has good grades something I always had to fight to get him to understand. Now he wants them. I dont have to fight to get him up in the morning he does it on his own and is telling me to 'hurry Mom, I want to get there early'. I do not like the way the kids are allowed to dress in public school and we always fought over his clothes. Now he has the uniform and cant wait to put it on each day. If you are considering this school, say yes!!!!

One of my sons went to St Joe. The school had over 1000 students, it was the size of a public school. St joe's staff seemed to be interested in what was going on out on the sports fields then what was going on in the classrooms. It was not worth the money. I would not recommend st joe to anyone.

My oldest son graduated from Mt. St. Joseph in 2006, and my youngest will be a senior in the fall. Each has received an outstanding education in and out of the classroom. My oldest earned academic scholarships to several universities, and was very well prepared for college life. My youngest has also done well in the classroom and is being recruited by local schools for an athletic scholarship. The faculty and staff are outstanding. Students learn in an environment that challenges them to exceed their expectations. We could not be happier with the school.

<Mount Saint Joseph is an amazing place. My son is a current senior and MSJ has been worth every penny I have spent . The teachers and administration have been there to encourage and assist the boys every step of the way. The experiences my son has had will be remembered for a lifetime! We are proud to have a Mount man in our family. Mt. St. Joseph HS has been a terrific experience. Our son is not setting the academic world on fire but has learned so much there. Each boy is treated as a unique individual. It doesn't matter to the faculty whether a boy is in an honors program, college prep or the Joseph program, the faculty and staff work with each boy to make them succeed. We are confident that our college prep son will do well in college. He also has been involved in many activities on campus. It truly is a band of brothers there. We have made an investment in his future. It's amazing how many men in the commmunity are also Mount Men. We are looking forward to his continued success. The cycle begins again next year as his brother will enter MSJ.

Our son is a 'Mount Man' and that is a fact that we are all quite proud of. The guidance, direction and education he received during his four years there have served him well. The true brotherhood that he carries with him today is an invaluable aid in how he conducts himself in his private and professional life.

Mt. St. Joe's is a great school. My sons (classes of 1999 and 2001) were always encouraged to do their best, congratulated when they succeeded and helped when they fell down. The faculty and administration provide many opportunities for the students to go beyond the school work and to become involved in community service and activities that show them the world and prod them to stretch themselves and their vision of the world. Both my sons took advantage of these opportunities within and outside the school community. Community is important to the Mount, the students and their families. Parents are heavily involved in numerous activities through the moms' and dads' clubs. As a result of this experience both my sons went to UMCP Honors College on full scholarships and are continuing to excel in academics and involvement in school activities. One son has graduated from UMCP and is a graduate fellow at Univ. of California at Berkeley working toward his PhD in Physical Chemistry. His brother is a Junior and planning on Veterinary School.

Both my sons graduated from Mt St Joseph. My oldest was an honor student My youngest a college prep both derived great educational experiences from attending I don't think my second son would feel he was college material without having attended. He currently is enrolled in a community college is looking forward to transferring to a four year college next spring. My older son graduated from architecture school University of MD and has nothing but great things to say about MSJ as well. Well worth the money.
