My son is in third grade and he has been at Johnnycake since first grade. He has loved every teacher he has had there!

Good school, great teachers! My daughter is in first grade at Johnnycake and has been there since PreK. She has loved all her teachers and so have I.

My daughter has attended Johnnnycake for the last 3 years. In the beginning the school had alot of issues. The principle was not involved with parents or students as much as the new pinciple Mrs Maddox. She has defintley has made major improvments with new staffing and programs. Everyday she is in the hall way watch and interacting. As a parent it's great to see someone lead by example.

I am an involved parent that is in the school on a regular basis. My child is an honor roll student, however I give most credit to myself not the school. The behavior is so out of hand I'm surprised the teachers find time for instruction. The scores at the school are still low, (see 2007 results). The parents are not involved with the children at this school and its shows in the kids. They may be working to improve things but its not enough.

In response to the review that panned the school, the teachers, and the test scores, I can only say that it is a very outdated opinion. I was just in the school yesterday as a substitute and could not have asked for a better class. The students were well behaved, studious, cooperative, and on-task. All classes in the hallways were orderly. The administrative staff was visilble and verbal throughout the day. All support personnel were accessiblea and productive. Please visit this school again. I think you will find that quite a change has been made. Yours Truly, a happy sub teacher

The teachers at this school could not care more about their students. They do everything they can for their stuents and more. The parent envolvement is ok, but could be improved with a little work from us parents.

This is a very unstructured school. The classrooms are unruly and the teachers are inconsistent. The test scores are low. The parent involvement is low as well. I would not recommend this school for any child who wishes to excel.

Johnnycake is an excellent school. The new PBIS that was implemented almost 3 years ago has really improved the school and the disciplinary issues. Now the school is on the right trackt to success. The MSA and CTBS scores have increased as well. I love this school and my child had grown alot.
