E. Russell Hicks Middle School

Staff is rude. Show severe favoritism. Disciplinary procedures seem to vary depending on how much they like the student. Can't wait til my kids are out of that school.

All four of our children attended E Russell Hicks over the last 7 years and for the most part they really enjoyed their experiences at the school. As parents who participated in the PTA, band boosters, field trips...my wife and I got to see first hand the dedication and effort of the staff; from the Principal to the custodians. The band program is top notch as well, as the two band directors' demonstrate incredible leadership and dedication to the musicians in their program. An excellent school!

i just started going to e.r.h in 6th grade and i love it the teachers are great and the way they run things is incredable . !

This is my son's 1st yr at E.Russel Hicks. I am impressed with teacher parent communication. (for the most part) I e-mail his teachers almost weekly touching base.They have always had an open door policy (after school of course. They are always there to answer my questions and concerns. I especially love my son's math teacher. My son struggled in Math the past 3 yrs. This year he is loving it. I feel his teacher Miss.Litten is the main reason for this. I also give a BIG Thanks to Mr.and Mrs. Scally Merit S.S. He is loving the class and it shows in his work. Miss.Bambrick is wonderful,( my son has not been as motivated as he is now about Reading. ( Thank yoo very Much)

My son goes to this school for 7th & 8th grade. Some of the teachers are questionable. But most of them are terrific. Their disciplinary actions are not great. Not enough extracurricular activities. Overall it's a pretty good school. Not great but good. My son has been an honor student, but they don't recognize that as a good thing. I'm only speaking from our experience. We stressed how important education is, they just shrugged it off and ignored my comments.

My daughter has gone to this school for 2 years and loves it. The teachers are fantastic and the staff is very couteous and friendly. We would recommend this school to anyone. She has been an honor roll student for those 2 years and was even voted into the national honor society for middle schools.
