Western Hights Middle School is the best school I have been to out of all the school I've been to. Im a student now in 7th grade and I love it

Posted September 10, 2013

The school is making great strides in providing a quality education. I am a parent of an 8th grader and have noticed in the last two years while my child has been attending since 6th grade, the teachers and staff are making tremendous improvement in assisting the students and keeping the parents informed. I feel the quality of my child's education is at least average or above, compared to when he started 2 years ago. I would like to see more parents involved at the school events, which helps support the students and teachers; they will know the community cares about them being successful.

I go to this school and all the teachers take time to help you with anything that you have a problem with. The teachers will NOT let you fail and let you be help back. The programs like chorus and band are awesome. If I had a chance to go to any school and i knew about this school I would chose thisschool over any of them. I love this school. I am in 8th grade.

Awesome school. None of the teachers let their kids fall behind without helping them as much as possible. about 60% of the fights are stopped and resolved before even done. the principal is very donating, and the school is doing a lot for people both failing and passing. They have awesome gym, band, choir, art, ect. programs in the school. This is all from a student

they cant control the students and what they do. they really do need to get some cops to guard the school. one outside of every classroom door and some in the cafeteria by the way i am an 8th grader at western heights.

I am a 7th grader here at the school and i have to say the teachers are great but the amount of discipline really is not up to par. The teachers can't control their students and it makes me scared that as a student they can a llow fights and drama that can be harmful to the students. Just recently there was a very violent fight. Although acedemics are okay, they could put in more effort.

I am a teacher at Western Heights Middle School. I came to WHMS four years ago as a new teacher in Washington County and ahven't left yet. There is something about the support of parents, the great staff who works so hard as a team to see all students succeed, and the students that makes you want to stay. I enjoy pushing my students to look forward to all the great possibilities and opportunites that the future and life can bring. Pushing our students to be all that they can be, and watching it happened in the course of three years and less. This is a great school to work at because with great challenges there are great rewards!

I have a sixth grader at this school. I was very nervous about him going into middle school. I will say that I am very pleased with the teachers in this school. They honestly take the time to teach the students and keep them on track. Great Job Western Heights Teachers!!

I am a parent of a 7th grader. I have seen my child reach new heights within the last year attending Western Heights. My child was a below average student before arriving to Western Heights this year. Now she is a honor roll student and has remained that way all year. Most of her teachers have remained in contact with me through email and via telephone, whenever there has been the slighest stumble in her grades. She is exicited about going to school, and the teachers seem to take a personal interest in her educational growth. I am very please with the teachers and the rewards systems that the school has in place. She looks forward to eating lunch in the teacher lounge etc. My olny concerns are that I would like to see a more diversified teaching staff, and more afterschool activites for students. I think this will help.

Hi there...I'm not a parent, but I'm an eighth grader at WHMS and I just wanna say that it's a really cool school and just because its in a bad part of town doesnt mean its not a good school. We have really good disipline procedures and a really clean school and Mrs. Rupenthal rocks!

I am in fact a seventh grader at Western Heights and not a parent, but I think that this school's reputation is awful but the school itself is extremely plesent and provides a clean, safe atmosphere, with good teachers and facilities.
