White Marsh Elementary School

WMES is the best kept secret in St. Mary's County. What a wonderful school -administration, staff, students and parents. I have been in many of the county schools and nowhere have I found a better working and learning environment. This staff is a team highly committed to the students, with high expectations, professionalism and expertise. I love it here.

What a WONDERFUL school!!! My husband and I have been absolutely thrilled with this school for our child. We would call this St. Mary's County's best kept little secret. It's a community school with caring, warm, friendly, encouraging staff, administration and teachers. We are encouraged, invited and thrilled to be involved in ALL aspects of the school from volunteering, aiding in the classrooms, PTA, and assisting with special events. We are so glad that we found this wonderful, small school, and would move mountains to be able to keep our child at this wonderful school!

At one time, this was a terrific school. White Marsh was a family and community building and inclusiveness were highly held goals. Under Mrs. Flowers watch, fundraising and standardized test scores seems to be the primary goals. Parent involvement is met with resistance unless you are writing a check. The teachers are wonderful, but I wonder how long before they go to other schools where they are valued more.

I have never had a problem or issue with this school in the past 8 years. The staff goes above and beyond to not only help our children achieve their goals but to be their for the parents as well. The principal Mrs. Flowers is not only improving the school but she is bringing wonderful changes in a way that is bringing our families and community together. If you want a great education for your children this is the school for you. I love this school.

The administrative staff and principal really need to get it together. This school is under a new principal, Ms. Flowers. My experience with the referenced staff has been very unprofessional and inconsistent. I believe as a parent that I should feel like I can count on such staff as they are responsible for my child's well being while in their care, and I do not feel that way at all. On a positive note, I love my child's teacher...too bad I cannot say the same about the leadership of the school.

You wont find a better school in Souhern MD than this one! The teachers and administrative staff have it together! I have 2 kids here and this is by far the best school they have been to. (moved around alot) My children love it here, and I do to.

I have experience with other schools in St. Mary's and Charles County, and I can tell you that you will not find a greater school than this one. I have 2 kids who love it here. The ENTIRE staff is wonderful, and you will definately feel like family here! Clean, safe, excellent teachers, you wont be disappointed!

This is a life changing school. We are so thankful to have both of our girls attend White Marsh Elem. The entire staff is an amazing group of people. Elementary School has been a wonderful experience for our family. The Jacobs Family 2008

This is the best school! Everyone seems to know everyone. The kids are happy & that makes for a fun learning enviroment. The teachers, lunch staff, office support, custodians, and everyone all seem like a big family. We love it!
