Oak Hill has excellent teachers and staff. My first grader has thrived in this school. The principal has a wonderful rapport with students, staff, and parents. Parent involvement allows for numerous enrichment activities. As a parent whose children have attended private schools in the past, I think Oak Hill out preforms them all!!

An all around fantastic school... The building itself could use some updating, though. Glad to see the walls being built to enclose a once "open classroom" setting.

I am having a very hard time at this school this year. My son attends the third grade and is not being motivated by any teachers in this grade. I find the teachers somewhat complacent, and non-communicative. There is absolutely no one-on-one translation of the work the children are studying. I will not be returning next year. Perhaps I am just used the wonderful attention my son received from the private school system, even in a less priveleged county. I really have no idea how this school received any type of ranking in the county.

We have 2 children attending Oak Hill, and I am a former student. We have found the teachers at Oak Hill to be very responsive to parents in regards to; meeeitng w/ us, returning emails/messages, and providing feedback on our children. The new Principal also seems very involved and concerned about the well being & education of the children. The only negative that comes to mind is the school's 'open space' set up.. However, the school received $ to erect walls, which I believe, will alow kids to focus better. Everything considered, this is a great school!

Oak hill is a great school. We are a former family returning to the area and are only interested in buying a home in the Oak Hill district. We love this school. My husband went here as a child.

This is a top notch elementary school with very involved parents. The teachers are extremely dedicated and the students are all well behaved. This school produces the most 'straight A' students at the SP Middle School. I would recommend this school over any private school anyday!! (I used both private & public schools for my daughter.)

I belive that Oak Hill Elementary is a pretty good school. When I was there, the teachers were very kind and they paid attention to you individually if you needed help. If you were struggling, then you were quickly given a conference when and found how to improve yourself. I belive that Oak Hill is a good school and they have many fun activities to participate in.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Maryland used the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science.
