I recommend Corkran Preschool & Kindergarten to anyone looking for a preschool. This is my 5th year with a child at Corkran Preschool and I couldn't have asked for a better preschool for my kids. The staff is like family and they treat the kids wonderfully. The children learn while having fun at the same time. I could not ask for a better place to send my kids.

Look no further! Our family is fairly new to the area and were looking, without much guidance for a good private school in the area. Corkran exceeded all of our expectations. It is everything a preschool should be. Intimate, involved staff and parents, happy, kind all the while OVER preparing your child for his or her school career. More, the value for the price is phenomenal and unbeatable in this area. We started our daughter in the 4s program and she just completed a wonderful and memorable kindergarten year. Look forward to starting my 2 year old this fall!

for a completely over-analyzing worried about EVERYTHING new mom, this school was a saving grace. I was more in tears the first day than my daughter was - and the staff & principal were completely understanding and supportive (they were used to dealing with the seperation anxiety of both child AND parent). My daughter had already learned quite a few of the "goals" for her agegroup when she started pre-k at Corkoran. I was so relieved to see that from day one, her mind was nurtured as much as the rest of her. We STILL keep in touch with one of her little classmates (no longer so little), though 4000 miles apart. And still refer back to their "quaint" Corkoran beginnings. We moved from Maryland, and thus, had to move on to a new school; but there would not have been any question whether we would have kept our daughter there as long as possible! It has been an ominous task, trying to find schools that can live up to the precedence set for us by Corkoran Preschool.

Best kept secret in PG County. I am not one that is easily impressed, but Corkran did it. Two persons separately recommended this school to us, both of which are educators in PG County and whom have children that are alumni of the school. My daughter started when she was 2 yrs old and is now in the five day 4 yr old program. My husband and I absolutely love it and plan to keep her there through Kindergarten. The teachers are professional and caring, and Principal leadership is outstanding (emphasis added). My daughter has been fully engaged in the 4 yr old program and loves the fact that she now has "real" homework. I briefly observe morning group times, and was blown away that she is learning fractions at such a young age. One area the school would greatly benefit from is if they incorporate foreign language into the curriculum, particularly Spanish. Corkran would be even better with additional funding. Last, the tuition is super affordable.

This is the best preschool you will ever find. The staff is one of a kind, so caring and loving to the children as well as their families. You feel very welcomed when you enter each day. The education the children receive is the best! All of our children attended Corkran and now wish they could go back. Don't hesistate to visit you won't be disappointed?

Corkran is our daughter's first school experience-we are thrilled! The staff is caring and knowledgeable. We never worry about our child's safety while in the care of this awesome team. This is the type of pre-school experience every child deserves! Additional funding will greatly enhance the overall program.

WARNING. GOOD SCHOOL, BUT . . . Curriculum & teacher flexibility were issues for Fall 2010 so told by staff to consider another school. School believes in supporting teachers & parents. However, ultimate decision to support your personal educational goals for your child may not be supported if they do not align w/the individual teachers program. By end of my child s 1st year in 2's class she was reading ready. At 3 & 4 we wanted to inclu another language. Corkran does not offer so we found a school that did & w/alternating days. Her 3's class teacher worked w/us & our child learned French on M-W-F & English at Corkran on T-Th w/ hmwrk_&_she_did_well._She_learned_the_3's_curriculum_in_both_languages. For Fall 2010, the 4 s teacher, for whom our child was to be assigned, rejected our request to keep the same schedule. Reason: teacher_did_not_want_to_have_to_keep__our_child_on_track_if_need_arose_or_w/support_from_home.

I absolutely love this school!! It is truly one of the best kept secrets in PG County. And when I finally found out about it...I discovered that it is less than 10 minutes away from my house!! My daughter will begin her second year this Fall and I will keep her enrolled until she graduates from Kindergarten. The student teacher ratio is small and all of the teachers and administrators know each child. I feel very comfortable leaving my daughter there and know that she'll be safe. I believe that the academic focus is carefully planned and made appropriate for each age level. I am not one of those parents who believe in paying loads of money to create "genius" in a child. I also love the part-time option for the really young ones....I think it really helps with the transistion into preschool. Bottom Line: Corkran is AWESOME!!!

Love, Love, LOVE this school! My son started in PreK 3 class and his teacher and teacher's assistant were amazing. This is a small school with a BIG HEART. I love the fact that all other teachers in this building know every child. The staff here is very nurturing and HAPPY. From the Director to Aftercare staff, they are all genuine people. The Director of this school is awesome! Mrs. Heying is very patient, supportive and encouraging. She is very approachable and very involved. I will have my son attend this school all the way through Kindergarten. Also, I would like to add that my relatives at the things that my son says. The curriculum here is wonderful and my son is excited about heading to school each morning. Love it!

We love Corkran, too! At first we struggled finding a place to send our son for preschool, but then I found Corkran. I cannot say enough what a wonderful experience it has been these last 2 years. I just hate that we have to move on. The teachers have been so patient and understanding with our son who struggles with some special needs. He feels so comfortable there and has just thrived under their care. This sounds so corny but Corkran really is a very special place and we feel fortunate to be associated with such an excellent school.
