Comprehensive good school! Safe and convenient in a small town. Classical and Beautiful Campus of New England style! Nice teachers and schoolmates! Wonderful atheletic activities with other high school of Boston. Nice College counselling...

This school has few great teachers, and even fewer coaches. LA is known for it sports, not education. It is found in the bottom of the ISL. The new AD is easily one of the worst in the business.

Unfortunately the quality of the school had dropped dramatically in recent years. My son has attended Lawrence since the 9th grade and enjoyed it very much his firs year there. My daughter is one year behind my son and she also enjoyed it her first year. However, recently, the Administration has been acting disrespectful to many of the parents and students. I Do not believe that this type of behavior should be displayed to us parents who are paying nearly $50,000 a year per child.

We were very fortunate to have our childen attend Lawrence Academy. It had a wonderful balance of both day and boarding programs. Our children had different intersts and both were able to excel socially and academically. They both got into Ivy League school and are doing very well .

I have a daughter who has gone there for 4 years. We absolutely love the school. She is involved with the total school concept, including organizations and clubs. The school has lots of options for the kids to get involved with. She is also involved with the sports program, playing soccer, basketball and lacrosse. The teachers are very involved with the students and you can call them anytime to get help and information. The academic programs are very motivational and the classes are small. I am sad to see her graduate, but Lawrence Academy has given her the opportunity to go to a wonderful college.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
