I am not only a parent but also an alumni. St. Andrew School has made tremendous strides in offering a high quality education to an ethnically, religious, familial diverse population. A strong focus on the academic core subjects and students' individual learning needs. Teachers enthusiasm to educate and collaborate with parents is evident through their availability. Two teachers have dedicated over 25 years of service to the school. Parent involvement is highly welcomed and encouraged. The small environment strenghtens the sense of community and respect among the students. I highly recommend parents to come and visit to learn more. It is a wonderful place.
St. Andrew's school is a first rate school for parents seeking a small progressive private school. As a parent and elementary educator in another school district with two children currently enrolled I can't say enough about the quality of the teachers or the leadership of the administration. The curriculum and instructional methods are current and a hands on approach to learning is prefered. Students are given the opportunity to utilize skills in meaningful ways and the school fosters excitement and motivation in the students. Classroom music instruction is supplemented with an instrumental lesson program and fine school band. The school is flexible and compassionate in meeting the needs of special learners, and celebrates student diversity and the idividuality of each child. Students learn the value of respect for others, themselves and God. St Andrews provides a Catholic education but all are welcome. This school is a hidden gem. Strongly recomended.
St. Andrew the Apostle School is an okay school overall. The best thing in this school are the teachers. They know discipline, how to keep a class behaving, and most importantly to educate. The students are smart, but they refuse to work hard. Few students got accepted to the exam schools(Boston Latin, Boston Latin Academy, and the O' Bryant). I am one of those students. The principal needs to learn how to keep a school going better. The most terrible thing about this school is the lack of extracurriculars. There hasn't been a permanent gym teacher for this year at all. There are no clubs, no leagues or anything. This school needs to work on building a structure and giving its students a passion to learn inside and outside of the classroom.
