I am very happy with the education my children are receiving at Clyde Brown! My daughter and I were just talking about all of her teachers, she has loved every one of them, and she's in 3rd grade now. Today her class made it rain in the classroom using ice and hot plates to illustrate the process of condensation/precipitation. Her teacher always utilizes creative activities like this to engage the kids-they love her! Sure, there are little things that bug me about the school from time to time. But that will happen anywhere, and what it comes down to for me is the teachers. I have 2 children in the school, one in 3rd, one attended Prek last year and is now in Full Day K. They love school, they have loved all of their teachers, and they look forward to getting up and going every day!
LOVE this school...and I find the principal to be a bit dowdy, but sincere. All my experiences with him have been good. We have run into some bullying issues, but they were resolved with help from the school. I can't remember any bullying issues ever even being addressed when I was a kid in school in Boston in the 70s. Extra academic help has been appropriately offered when needed, and additional instruction has been offered in areas where the children excel. All in all a great little school in a nice little town.
The teachers make this school! They are wonderfully committed, enthusastic and talented teachers! The leadership is what is lacking in this school, the Principal has low expectations and does not incent children to excel. The principal has a poor response to conflict and security issues, however, the school policy's make this school very safe (locked doors, drills, etc).
