I have twins in kindergarten at this school. Strengths with the school include use of standard assessments to measure progress throughout the year, though one teacher did not share my son's skills at the mid-year teacher's conference. Since it is a half day, they spend the first part of the school year emphasizing letter-sound correspondence and phonological awareness as well as basic academic readiness skills. During the latter part of the year, they begin reading and writing workshops. I have found differences between the two teachers one is good the other is excellent. Both have offered simple homework that is family oriented. On the down side, specials (gym, art, and music) are offered once every other. There appears to be few enrichment activities offered by the school and the PTO does not appear receptive to new ideas and input from families that cannot commit time beyond the monthly meetings.
