I am a parent of a Special Education student. I do have to say that although the school spends a great deal of money on asthetics and athletics, it is lacking in administrative accountability around education. Staff being nice to children may be enough for some adults, but I believe teachers are there to educate, not make friends. The class size is too large and inclusion classes do not have para's in them. The students are bullying some teachers, and administration turns a blind eye to the problem. Teachers are held responsible for teaching, discipline, testing, tutoring, and IEP monitoring. All impossible to do with 30 children and 1 teacher. Administration needs to be more active in the classroom set-up.

Oliver Ames has good points and some flaws. It has terrific school spirit and athletic programs. The Principal is competent and there are many dedicated teachers. Unfortunately, there are some extremely poor teachers and because the is little accountability for what goes on in the classroom the school suffers academically.

This school is an outstanding public high school. The academic and extracurricular environments provide the opportunity for all students to thrive. The leadership is superb from the Principal to the Department Heads and Guidance Dept. Students are very well prepared for college and beyond. We are fortunate to have such a strong high school in our town - a community where children do not need to leave town to go to a private school.

I am pleased to see that principal recieved five stars because he is simply the best. He loves kids and supports them in all their activities. He runs a fantastic school and leads with a passion for excellence. I hope he stays in Easton so all my kids can experience the shcool he has established.

As a student here, I find that academically there are definately flaws, but I feel well prepared to go on to college and that most of the teachers are great. The math department is a little weak. Socially, it's a lot of wealthy white kids, and they're all really competitive.

As a former student of OA, I have found that I was well prepared for college and life in general after graduating. It is a great school.

My son is a special needs student. He has been at Oliver Ames For three years in the special needs program . After his first year, his overall improvement in his subjects and self confidence had improved 100%. I had planned to move to another town but after speaking to teachers in other towns about their special needs program, most of the teachers said that they were trying to get the model program that Oliver Ames has. This year the principal awarded my son the most improved student award. I am more than pleased with Oliver Ames High School. My son is not pampered but given real life everyday situations to learn to live independently.
