This school, as of Sept 2006, changed leadership. I was ready to move my student out of this school until the new principal came on board. He has made this school very safe and is very focused on student achievement. Excellent school, excellent teachers.

Parent involvement in this school is almost non-existent. Perhaps instead of complaining about the teachers and principal parents should do something about it. Principal is very firm- but that's what it takes to run a tight ship. Overall a good school.

At this school, they keep taking teachers away (despite parents concerns and requests for more teachers, not less) while at the same time, increasing the difficulty of their already demanding curriculum (they have some of the highest class sizes in the state!). The principal runs this school like a jail warden, giving detentions to kindergartners. The teachers walk around with miserable looks on their faces, they yell at the children frequently, and the kids rebell back with even worse behavior. Field trips are all but a memory here, the teachers refuse because of discipline problems. It's sad to say, Allendale was once a great school, but needs some serious help now. I do my part, I volunteer here on a regular basis and am very saddened by what I see.
