I absolutely LOVE Chace Street School! This is my oldest child's 7th school year, since she started in pre-K, and it is going to be very hard for her to leave in June. The teachers are professional and are extremely focused on the students' academics. They are caring and highly motivated to help all of the children do their best. It is a highly structured environment, run by an amazing principal. I have nothing but great comments about this school. My children are doing very well, academically and have made wonderful friends.
My child's experience at the Chace has been wonderful. The principal runs a very tight ship, and is hands-on all the time. The school could use a bit of cosmetic updating inside, but it is clean and generally conducive to learning. We moved here to afford our child the nest opportunity to succeed, and thus far, she is having a wonderful experience.
Chace St. does not have any warm fuzzies to it, having fun learning is not heard of.The hallways look like a hospital institution. All grades Kindergarten through 5th. are not allowed to socialize when out door recess is cancelled. Which makes it especially difficult for little ones. There is a no indoor recess policy, K- 5 are assigned academics for inclement weather. The teachers cannot even make a decision to get the kids energy out or let them play when needed unless it is approved, which isn't. If your child is not close to perfect then do not send them to Chace St. However, if your child is close to perfect, you and your child will love Chace St.
We Love Chace Street. It's such a blessing to part of a system that makes going to school all about your kids and not just a job or a business. They really care and want the best for your children. The Teachers are great, the Principal is VERY involved and connected to the students. We moved from a nearby community where we were told our child was 'above average' but when she began at Chace we quickly found out that she was actually behind in Math & Reading. The staff very quickly and efficiently got her the help she needed and she is doing much better. We feel very fortunate to be part of this school.
There is a lot I can say about Chace Street school. I was a student there my self and found help was always there for me when ever I needed it. ( speaking as a studen with an iep who often struggles a lot i know a lot about how help is offered and how a place can make a student feel when they need it.) Now I am on the other end of the stick. I often help out at the school , compaired to other schools in town I have worked with I have found the teachers here wonderfull!
I have three children in this school. I have had no problems with any teacher. The principal is always there when you need her. She nows the students by name. A great speical needs program.
