Prouty may not have the best building, but the academics are nothing to be ashamed of. Being a small school means everyone knows each other and you're not just another stranger to the faculty. Students receive full credentials and have many extracurricular programs to choose from. If you're a good student you can load up on enough AP courses to make having a part time job nearly impossible. I had no problem getting accepted to the honors programs of 6 colleges' nursing programs, not to mention never taking AP courses. The building really isn't in that rough of shape, but if the walls and lockers have to be flush and perfect in order for you to feel like your education is valuable, then go to Tantasqua or Quabbin. The school doesn't determine how far you go, it's the student. My chemistry teacher graduated second in his class from Harvard. Show me another public school that has such highly acclaimed faculty... Class of 2011
Dear Parents, Compare nearby Tantasqua and Wachusett Regional to David Prouty. The activities, Sports, Programs, and Elective courses to choose from alone should make your decision. The mcas scores will also help. Nevermind the immature atmosphere among the students that the teachers encourage.. If you want your child to have choices and an opportunity to actually learn something and better themselves... choose anything over Prouty.
A great place to be, high graduation rate, high college placement, teachers that care. Activities that are varied and plentiful. Complete sports program Building needs a lot of work.
David Prouty is a good school. It is not as many people portray it which is as a falling apart old building. The building is in decent shape, and they have a brand new library. The teachers are good at the school. There is a new principal at the school who is an ex-Army sergeant. It also has good extra curricular activities.
I attend David Prouty and it is not a good school. Most of the teachers are of poor quality and it has gone very down hill. The school contains mold and is falling apart. Staff and students are not respected by each other and its sad to graduate from there and know its barely giving you credit.
Prouty is an awesome high school. I went there for my four years of high school, and I would not have changed anything about my experiences there. I highly recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a quality school, with amazing teachers, and outstanding extracurricular activities. I hope that I can someday send my high school students there.
Prouty is an awesome school for kids to grow intellectually, socially and, emotionally. A school in which attachment to its family-like enviroment is easily adapted. With a staff that cares, and the classes to focus, Prouty has become my favorite school. I fell in love with the school and am absolutly sure anyone with a heart and brain will too!
