In the 2011 class we had 129 students graduating over 99% from the 9th grade, the class of 2011 had a cumulative scholarship dollar amount of 9 million dollars. This is an amazing amount of money for a Springfield School.
My children attend Sabis.Overall we love it.I do not feel the no bullying tolerance is at 0 % as stated.Parent involvement is not as encouraged as I would like . Moreso in the upper gradesBut the educational piece is strong.(maybe to stressful at times).
First year. It was good but not great. The school does not have a strong community feel from the staff. They are polite but not inviting.
My daughter goes to Sabis, she is in kindergarten going to first grade. I have emailed her teacher at least monthly sometimes more with questions. I have gotten extra work sent home to work on with my daughter. My daughter has given gifts at holidays for her teachers. I do think there is too much pressure on the children to learn, but I feel that my daughter will get the best education she can get there. I handle the extra things outside of school. My daughter loves her school and teachers.
They have a high academic strength, but I find that the academic push can be stressful on students. They need a little more creativity to develop both brain functions. It is one of the best schools in MA and we feel safe having our students there. The staff has been quick to act on any issue we have had. As a SABIS parent, we continually work on the areas that our children miss out on at school in the lower grades (play time, arts&crafts, exercise, social development). Every school has strengths/weaknesses, and SABIS is tops for education.
Academically the best school I have been associated with. If your child is gifted in the arts this is not the school for you. For students lucky enough to enter in kindergarten and stay through high school they will enjoy a wondefil social and educational experiance as my daughtes are doing now. SAbis is the reason we stayed in Springfield.
This school is one of the best Schools in Massachusetts. I think the discipline is too strict and a strong majority of the teachers are arrogant. I think the school attempts to get parents involveded but is not successful, unless it has anything to do with extracurricular activities.
Great school for the academics and high school has only about 1000 or so students enrolled. if your looking for a school in the arts or a sepcific sport then this probably isnt the rigth school for you. due to small classes there isnt even enough students for a footbal team, although we do provide cross country, soccer, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, softball, baseball, tennis and golf. Other extracurricular activities include model congress, and others as well that i am unaware of. SABIS encourages student participation and has established a great student life program that is still a working progress. Each year certain students involved in student life are accepted for an all expense paid trip to the mall of america to represent SABIS as they meet with other members from other schools. SABIS works diligently to keep students out of trouble and working hard. the best school chioce in springfield.
