Here are my concerns. As a parent of a child with special needs, I have had bare minimal support from the school. The principal talks the talk but cannot and will not support you. I am extremely disappointed in the way the school handles any kind of concerns. There are a few exceptions. From the secretaries who made you uncomfortable from the moment you walk in and continue to talk personal talk while you wait for them to finish and then wait while they give you an attitude to the lack of involvement from the principal. I would NEVER recommend this school. The few good staff members are wonderful but the rest ruin it for them.
Honestly, the school it's self needs improvement. The bathrooms have writing on them, and they are not taken off within the same week. Principals do not follow student handbook when dealing with issues. Teachers do not explain homeworks, etc. These are just some reasons why the Kennedy Middle School is unsatisfactory, and should plan on improving immediately. (NOTICE: the studens do NOT use the outside field, and the school isn't monitored as well as it should be, and this is a safety concern!!!)
Clean school. They do not spend any time outside, which is concerning. There is no recess for 6th grade. Furthermore, they have zero clue about after-school care. Parents seem to be left in the lurch without assistance from the school. There are no programs at the school itself, and when I asked for assistance they had no idea where to send me, or even a phone number of anyone else who could help. I found this very odd. Beyond that, the school seems to be a good one.
