This is an amazing school, I recommend it very much. The staff, and all the kids are very respectful. It is just such a great envirment to be in. When you first walk in, it doesn't feel like a school, but a home. All the kids get good grades, and in the past 5 years they have all been on the honoral, and many #1 in the whole class!
My son has attended this school since Pre-K. He is now in 1st grade. The teachers and staff are wonderful. They have shaped him academically as well as spiritually. Walking into SJS the children have wonderful manners, by saying good morning or good afternoon, and holding doors. They teach respect, and responsibility. Technology is now in every classroom. SJS is one of a kind! This school is worth every penny!!! Not to mention it is the most cost effective out of the 3 catholic schools in Webster! Class sizes are small so each child will actually learn, opposed to a class with 30 to 1. I would highly recommend SJS!
Our son has attended Saint Joseph School since pre-school and is currently in first grade. For the past three years we have attended numerous functions and have had the opportunity to engage with the administration, the teachers and many parents. We feel that the school has become an extension of our family the staff at St. Joe s truly cares about the well-being and enrichment of the student body. We are thrilled with the level of education our son is receiving as well as the technology advancements that the school continues to make. This technological development is needed in today s society and will keep our children on the forefront of these ever changing times. Our son has forged many wonderful friendships and enjoys going to school each day. We also can t say enough about the positive influence the Felician Sisters have made on our son. To quote our son, At school today, Sister taught us some amazing religion she is very close to God, Mom! Saint Joseph School has been an extremely positive experience for our family.
St. Joseph's is the place to be for quality education and high school preparation. My son attended SJS and went on to private Catholic HS. He is forever grateful for the sound academic as well as personal development he received. The lay principal has done a good job with recruitment and supporting the school and parish on many levels. the cultural diversity is welcome and recognized in a way that other schools do not. Promethean boards in almost every classroom allowing for the most advanced technology in education, student participation. Teachers are supportive and challenge their students.
No school is perfect but I must say this school has done very well by my son and daughter. The new principal is great, and hands on leader who not only has the academic background but also understands the need for extracurricular activites such as basketball, cheering and he will soon be adding a soccer team the list in the fall of 2009. This school produces good, intelligent young adults.
Our Felician Sister has been replaced with a lay principal! The Felician sisters built thisschool 100 years ago and it has never had a lay principal. This is all the work of the headmaster/pastor-he has ruined the school over the last 14 years. The school use to have 365 kids -it now has 80 because of him and his mis/micromanangement. He forced out all the wonderful people from the school. He is only interested in fancy things that look good on the outside but have not substance on the inside-this includes, people, buildings, curriculum etc.... There are 2 other wonderful Catholic schools in this town within walking distance of each other and they have no problems...choose one of them!
The academics have decline over the last 5 years. Alot of problems in the upper grades and little preparationin the lower grades. A lot of parental favortism,as well as a lot of drama-pastor runs the whole show and not very well.
My experience with SJS was unparalleled. Saint Joseph School truly sets students upon a foundation for life. The Felician Sisters instill the students with vlaues that will guide them through their professional careers. The children are taught that they must carefully examine situations and not merely rely on rapid neurological response. I highly encourage parents to send their children to St. Joe's if they want their child to be well educated.
When my kids first attended this school it was wonderful. They got the help they needed and the teachers and principle were excellent.
This school, over the years, has really gone down hill. Tuition is another problem. Other then that the school is ok. The students are great, though rapidly declining in number , and the teachers are excelent too.
My children have been at Saint Joseph School very many years and we have seen many changes, unfornately for the worse. The discipline at the school doesn't exists and depending on who your parent is,some students are allowed to do things that others aren't. Also the uniform code is followed or enforced. Favoristism is defientely a factor in attending this school. Academics is not the focus only fundraising.
We have been in this school for a couple of years now and I can only say that we love it. My children have really blossomed and learned a lot. Of course there are little things that I do not like. But nothing is perfect in life. My children are happy and that's what counts!
I am proud to send my children to Saint Joseph School. We have a first rate academic program, extended day preschool and kindergarten, after-school enrichment programs, such as a Lego club, art classes, chess club, and many more. The teachers are first rate and do care about the kids as individuals. We have many families who are very involved with the school and work together to make St. Joe's what it is. I would recommend our school highly.
I am very happy with the teachers and the quality of education at St. Joseph School. My child's grades have significantly improved sinced we transferred here, I think because of the daily emphasis on Christian values and family, and the dedication of the staff. The music program is excellent - there are both private lessons available and a great band. Interesting and fun after school programs are being offered. The school has just been accredited. Parents even got together to build a playground, something rare for parochial schools! It is a school constantly looking to improve itself and be on the cutting edge. Check out St. Joseph if you're looking for a great Catholic School in this area!
This school is GREAT! Saint Joseph s has high expectations of effort and performance from staff and students. The staff and administration are skilled and warm. They care a great deal about the children. The Administration strives for competency and improvement in the school, for example the achievement of accreditation. The school has a strong push to learn and practice fundamental skills. Students are encouraged to work on, and develop the personal attitudes and ethics required to be a good students, and to be productive members of society in the future. Children are required to act in caring and responsible ways. Students have many opportunities to be independent thinking and acting young people. Strong parental involvement is required, from fund raising, to homework. If you want to help work with your child, and want him to learn how to learn this is the school for you.
I have heard and I have seen that this school favors the children of its teachers and faculty members. I do not think this is fair to all the other students considering they have to work much harder because they are not favored. Also, the school is extremely disorganized and does not put their students first. For this I am having second thoughts about sending my child to this school. I think i regret my decision.
As the years go by, school spirit and morale have declined. Unfortunately, the students themselves are not being put 'first'-seems there is a hidden agenda here. Who you know and how much you give are primary concerns amongst administration. This used to be a first rate school, but even parents are becoming disenchanted. The kids themselves are great, and it is still better than public school.
I think that the school is pretty good school but the down side of it is that they only have two sports which are basketball and cheerleading. They need to get the kids more involed in sports and one way to do that is to have a choice from more then cheerleading or basketball. They need to get more involed with the children. The familes that give money to the church are favored much more then the other families. They need to raise money to go on more trips, many of the schools in Webster went to Washington, D.C for a trip and St. Joseph didn't even go. so I would only give the school 2 stars out of 5.
