Teaching to MCAS is not the correct way to educate a 7th and 8th grader for HS and College years. I can appreciate that they all have to take and pass the test to graduate HS, however, I do believe this school looks at their numbers as a whole and they are not worried about what the children are actually learning. Classical Fiction is not read in the english classrooms and there is hardly any disucssion or critical thinking skills being taught throughout the day. In order to prepare are children for the next step, it is of the utmost importance that we give them the right tools to do so. The discipline is very laid back, and there are many problems between children that go un-noticed. The school carries to many students per classroom, and all in all I would say it is not a good learning environment for any child ages 12-14.

I attend this school and I think most of the teachers are great. I like how they have different after school activites such as robotics, snowboarding, and chorus. The one thing that I want to see is a book club for students. Most of my teachers are very dedicated to their jobs and they are fabulous. The school has french, spanish, and mandarin and they offer pre-algebra and algebra classes. I do think that the school needs harsher punishments along with other small changes. One thing that bothers me is seeing kids who do not care about school in honors because it brings down the rest of the class. I feel like honors should not be based only upon how you did on MCAS and MAPS but mostly on what your conduct and effort grade is. I was put in a class that does not take algebra so now I must take that in 9th grade. I understand it is budget cuts but having only half of the school taking algebra does not seem fair. Even though I am in honors I still do not get to take algebra so someone in a college class who may not care about school is getting something that I want and they could care less. Overall the teachers are very hard working and the principles are nice as well.

This school lives up to its expectations as an east coast school, where education is a main priority. Although punishments are not harsh enough - three day suspensions - it is an overall good school and the school has many diverse students so your child can have an overall wonderful learning experience.

This school has very hard working teachers which place students needs first. There are many extra-curricula activities which the students enjoy.
