St peter's central catholic is one of the best schools. The teacher's are really caring ,its just a loving environment. Worcester diocese should add a high school instead of preschool to eight grade it should be to 12th grade. my child is home schooled now because He/she is enjoying the high school I placed He/she in. please use this week to do something about the high school situation

My daughter struggled in two of her 8th grade classes, Latin and Math. She would consistently ask for help at recess from both of these teachers. Both teachers refused because they had other commitments on more than one occasion. The 8th grade moderator also teaches Latin and Language Arts. It is impossible to do everything that was expected of her and expect for her to teach quality and consistent information classes. I know for a fact that my daughter suffered from this as a result. No matter how much communication she tried to have with this teacher, she was always told, "I don't have time right now," or "I can't." My daughter will be attending a high quality high school but once she got to the higher grades at SPCC, my respect for the school dwindled considerably. I wonder if the principal really knows what goes on in the upper grades especially with how the math and science teachers play favorites. The brightest light for middle school-aged students is the Social Studies teacher. He is consistent, caring, tough, and he challenges his students. I wish there were 5 more of him there at SPCC.

This school does not provide a quality education. Teachers are there for a long time because they are not certified in their profession and have no place else they can go. Principal is everywhere, but not in the classroom. She spends all her time fundraising and as hall monitor. She does not provide academic leadership or oversee the teachers or their instruction. She does not maintain academic standards. Tried this school for my son from kindergarten through second grade then pulled him out halfway through second grade. Put him in a wonderful Worcester Public School. Because of low academic standards at St. Peter's he was way behind when he went to the public school. He is bright and the very dedicated public school teachers worked extra hard with him so he caught up quickly. There are many better public schools in Worcester. I regret greatly our decision to send him to St. Peter's and cannot recommend them to any other family.

St. Peter Central Catholic is a beacon in a sea of poorly funded, urban schools in the city of Worcester. I am a resident of Worcester and a teacher in a nearby school district, but I was unable to send my daughter to the city public schools. My husband and I love living in this city, and we are more than willing to tout its many positive features, but the schools system and the subsequent peer group is one area we could not support. SPCC has proven to be the best choice for our daughter and our family. The principal is a ubiquitous presence on every level: she is at the front door in the morning, in the hallways, in the yard at dismissal, in attendance at every event from the Christmas fair to the Father/Daughter Dinner Dance, and even volunteers at Bingo! The teachers are caring, positive and keep in constant contact with parents. They truly love the children in their care. There is a sense of mutual respect and gentle discipline that permeates every classroom and event. The curriculum is rigorous and accessible - my daughter was able to read after two months of kindergarten and Wilson! We will be sending our younger son to SPCC. It is worth every penny of tuition!

It says something about the school when teachers have been teaching there for many years. And it says something about the school when teachers agree to no raises in order to keep the tuition from sky-rocketing. I am impressed by how much these teachers and administration know their students and their needs. This school not only has many certified to teach the Wilson method but math is huge part of the curriculum. Impressed with the community-building, presence of principal & headmaster and overall respect that is expected and taught at every level. Parental involvement is encouraged and parental volunteers are always in abundance. My daughter's self-esteem, confidence, and reassurance of her abilities has grown more and more each year she's attended. BRAVI to the best elementary school in Worcester. We couldn't be happier and neither could our daughter!

This school is one of the best schools in Worcester, it may even be the best one. The teachers at this school try to make learning fun by relating to the students. At this school the environment is different everybody knows each other. If you are new and you don't know much people you will soon with this schools welcoming environment.

Principal is a wonderful person. But, much more attention to raising the the quality of teaching, improving classroom interactions/ environment so they are more positive, and strengthening the curriculum is greatly needed. Better assessments of where each student is in his or her learning is also needed to guide teaching, especially in the younger grades.

You won't find a better school in which to send your child in all of Worcester County. Dedicated, professional and nurturing are just a few of the terms that come to mind when describing the staff and administration. A sound education, coupled with a loving Christian foundation, are the cornerstones of this school. Well-rounded, community-minded students graduate from St. Peter's year after year.

The Principal is the just the best. She helps in every way she can. She knows each of the students by name and knows everything about them. She looks at every students quizzes, tests, and report cards. She is truly the best principle.

Having sent three children through St. Peter Central Catholic we can attest that it is a unique, diverse, and nurturing environment. The values instilled are exceptional, the staff unbelievably dedicated, and the leadership outstanding. The alumni's academic successes are impressive, but most striking is their fondness for and loyalty to the school even years after graduation.

My children graduated in 2003 and 2005. The oldest just competed 1st yr of college and the youngest will be a senior. They still talk about SPCC. They loved it when they were there and their teachers knew what their individual needs were. I always felt that my children were safe and loved by all of their teachers. It's wonderful to see the teachers hugging their students when most teachers can't because of today's society. All the teachers and the headmaster are very dedicated individuals and I highly recommend this school. If I had more kids I would continue to send them to SPCC.

I have been involved with St. Peter Central Catholic for almost 20 years as a parent, teacher and consultant. My work has taken me to schools throughout the country and SPCC stands among the finest. It is a unique institution in its attention to individual needs and gifts, its expectation of mutual respect and honor between students and teachers and its warm, comfortable educational climate. It's Worcester's best kept secret!

I am an alumni of SPCC- CLASS OF 2005. I have to say it is a wonderful school. I attended from kindergarten to 8th grade. Going to this school helped me in so many ways. The saddest thing for me was having to graduate.

I know that this is supposed to be for parents, but I have been attending SPCC since Pre-School, and I am currently in seventh grade. This school is like a second home to me. The teachers are really great; I wouldn't even be able to say that one of our classes is boring. There are so many sports at SPCC, including soccer, field hockey, basketball, softball, baseball, and many other extra-curricular activities. SPCC is the only school that I have ever gone to, but truthfully, I will be very sad to leave it after eighth grade.

My daughter has attended SPCC since kindergarten and is currently in the 7th grade. It has been a terrific school for her. She has grown up to be a wonderful, caring, bright, articulate, well-rounded young lady while at SPCC. As her parent I can take much of the responsibility for a wonderful child, but in all honesty I know SPCC has had a significant, positive influence on her. Although we considered several schools I am fully convinced that we chose the school that was best for our daughter. SPCC is a great environment both academically and otherwise and I cannot recommend it enough.

I have a daughter who has gone to the school from preschool and will be graduating from 8th grade their. I can't say enough about St. Peter's Central the education is excellent, the teachers are more than committed and the Headmaster is the hardest working headmaster I know. The school has a diverse community were all children foster and grow. I highly recommend this school.
