FANTASTIC! All three of my children attended and graduated from this school so I had plenty of time to see all aspects. Wonderful STAFF who treat each child as an individual and make each student feel like they can ACHIEVE ANYTHING! The student to teacher ratio is so much better than a public school. These teachers are so committed to "teaching" and extra time is given to those students who may need it. It warms the heart to see the students become connected with each other and become life long friends after graduation. There are choices for extracurricular activities that fit everyone, not just the athletic type. My son was a pretty good basketball player, but the one year he attended Clarkston public high school, he did not measure up to their standards and begged to come back here! He was welcomed back with open arms and played basketball till he graduated. No student is excluded, just because they aren't the best. Instead, they are encouraged to try, and usually end up thoroughly enjoying being part of a team, or participating in drama, playing music during chapel services -- you name it! So thrilled that my grandchildren now attend too.
As an alumni, I recommend this school. The staff and teachers provide a safe environment and strive for excellence. As soon as you walk through the doors, their is a different atmosphere filled with warmth and love- things you don't have at many other schools. The student to teacher ratio allows teachers to get to know their student body and help them grow academically and professionally. I was adequately prepared for college and graduated with honors from Oakland University. AHCS encourages their students and instills in them confidence that is valuable for their future endeavors. If you are wanting to send your student to a school that values your child as an individual and not a number, this is the place for you.
I have two kids in college that graduated from AHCS. They attended AHCS since pre-school. They both received academic scholarships and one of them is in the Honors College at Oakland University. They are thriving in school and personally. I have noticed that the students that graduate from this school are leaders in their churches, universities and workplace. AHCS is making a difference in the lives of students and their families.
Auburn Hills Christian School is the most diverse private school in this area. We pride ourselves in challenging the advanced student as well as helping the struggling learner. We are able to accomplish this because we have small class sizes and teachers that care about each student. We have updated our science lab and we are in the process of updating our computer lab. AHCS students tell us that the school is like a family and they truly feel cared about and encouraged to succeed. Last year's graduating class received over $450,000 in scholarship money. Our students are developed into leaders and they are successful in all that they set out to do. Our graduates often return to help around the school and to let us know that they are thankful for the education and support they received while here.
As a graduate of Auburn Hills Christian School and now as a licensed educator who has worked in several local public districts, I can honestly say that AHCS is one of a kind. Their staff is friendly, generous with their time, and truly care about their students. The atmosphere is full of love and students of all ages welcome newcomers with open arms. AHCS produces students who are extremely successful in both college and in the workforce and care about their communities and others. If you are looking for a safe, loving and nurturing environment for your student, look no further. Auburn Hills Christian School will make the difference in your child and in your family.
Being a certified teacher means that I have had plenty of exposure to several schools in diverse environments. Out of the 10 years that I have been an educator, from being a teacher's assistant in Auburn Hills Christian School's Early Learning Center, to being an upper elementary science and history teacher, to now being a lower elementary classroom teacher, I can say that the experience at every age level that I taught at AHCS was head and shoulders above any public school district that I have worked in. Yes, many times a private school education means not having as many after school activities to offer, but it also means personally knowing your child's teacher and knowing that your student is truly loved and cared for on a daily basis, along with giving them an education that will make them a true competitor in the world we live in. Placing your student at AHCS means protecting them from the crazy world we live in, but also putting them ahead of the rest of the crowd. You will not find another school like it.
I've gone to AHCS throughout middle and elementary school and at first it is okay but as students progress they are not as well rounded or diverse as other schools. Class sizes are too small in all of the older grades. The athletic department is to small there is only one girls team and 2 boys teams for basketball with a gym that doesn't meet the requirement for official games so the team must play at a different school. There are uniform requirements that are unconventional and silly for men's basketball. The academics and extra curricular activities are at the bare minimum with <20 real electives and only 2 clubs. And the school charges many fees for things such as jean day and forgotten items in the hallway. The staff for the most part care and are encouraging to there students but students with active PTA parents receive much special treatment. All in all the environment is safe but mediocre and lacking in equipment like a fully function computer lab with enough computers and other important capabilities.
I used to go to this school and honestly I regret every moment that I was there. I did not receive the education that I needed. The teachers were great, but now most of those teachers are gone. All I know is that now some of the teachers are bullies to the kids. Other kids get favored because of their last name or because the teacher likes them more than others. I was not pushed to try my hardest. All they cared about was me passing. I have a sibling there and he/she has come to and cried about how certain teachers get onto them for asking questions. he/she has even gotten a detention over it (because it was not the right "time" to ask). I'm not blaming everything on them. Kids are kids and they do get out of line, but as the teacher they need to act like teachers and bully around their students. To me that is not a school where I would ever put my children. On a good note, they do have an awesome principle. I just wish my sibling would get treated better.
AHCS is a wonderful place. My kidsLOVE it here. They have developed great friendships, receive a quality education and are involved in many extracurricular activities. I work in a profession where I see and evaluate the education level of many students, and the level my children are at for their ages is far above the same-aged students from other schools that I encounter. There is NO other choice for my child's education. Professional, caring staff and quality, affordable private education....doesn't get much better than that.
My children are in 5th and 9th grades, and AHCS is the only school they have ever, or will ever attend! This is a Christian, loving and safe environment. The staff at the school is top-notch and they really have the students best interests at heart. The facility is beautiful. They offer a lot of extracirricular activities and have a great sports program. If you are looking for a high quality education, safe environment and at a very economical price for private school education - look no further.
This is a really great school! My kids love it so much that it is sometimes hard to get them to leave when school is out!
This school is the best school I took my kids to ever. It's a Private school with Kind and loving teachers. Its very easy for my kids to find friends here. My youngest child is going to be attending this Pre-school next year and I know he'll love it. My 2 daughters are in 4th and 5th grade and they love it.My oldest daughter attends band playing the trumpet. It's very influential at this Christian school and i would reccommend this scool to anyone!
i have 2 kids studying here for the past 3 months and they already started to like the school so much.. the most amazing thing is they get up early and get ready to school with full enthusiasm and energy. it reflects the variety in learning and activities offred at the school. most definetly the teachers are perfect in coaching the kids and also 100 %up to the mark . my son going to early learning center tells me he plays throughout the time at school ,but without my help he has learnt all his alphabets and numbers in less than 20 classes without any stress and pressure. i am from india and love the fact that my kids have become fluent in english now ...the credit goes to the school ,the vice principal and the teachers deepa shankar
i really didnt like the curriculum there because it wasnt as advance as my previous school. it was way to easy when i came here. i liked some of the teachers there but many of them treated me differently because i was the quieter students. They also have high prices which cause grief to my parents. they made many mistakes for the billing and which ultimately came back to me like it was my fault. sometimes i wish that my parents would of taken me out. i will not miss much of this school.
My daugher is in the school's early learning center. She loves it so much. The teachers there love the kids, and are very caring. It's also disciplined and well structured. My daughter's teacher find the kids' strong and weakness, and give them different focus. We all love the school, and I can't find another one better than it.
My 3 kids love this school. It feels like the family school environment that I had as a child. I have observed that the teachers and staff have genuine concern for the children. It's nice when your kids don't want to miss school. Even when they are under the weather.
This is a great school which has been in existence since 1978. They have a caring staff, it is a safe, nurturing Christian environment. They have a very good sports program. Children learned to write in cursive beginning in K-4.
Great school! Very caring and structured environment. Staff goes above and beyond to make sure that students get what they need academically, spiritually and personally to go out and make a difference and an impact in the world.
I love this school, however, there is a lack in extra curricular activites. Besides that the school is awesome and it has a great environment
I go to this school, I love the teachers there so kind, and all the kids there are nice too. Are education is the most important thing to this school, that ever student does good.
