I have 2 children attending Spencer Elementary. One just finished first grade and the other fourth. I have nothing bad to say about the school. I have found all of the teachers to be great, my children love going to school everyday, they do superb in all subjects. As far as fundraising, the only fundraisers Spencer uses are an auction and Market Day sales. The children are never asked to sell anything to raise money. We just installed new playground equipment with money raised from the PTA and auction-it was a 'community project' with parents helping to install the equipment. There are plenty of family events throughout the year, parents are always welcome in the school (I have lunch with my children once or twice a month) and parent volunteers are always encouraged in the classroom and for special events. The open classrooms are fine-not a problem at all.

Spencer is an AWESOME place for children to learn. The teachers are very supportive and respectful. The PTO and parent involvement is great. The new Principal, Mrs. Williams is wonderful.

We have had one child complete 1-5 grade and it was a great experience. We now have a 1st grader and 3rd grader, and I have found that the methods of teaching are extremely effective for young kids. They learn a lot more with the hands on learning that the school provides. The open classroom setting is a great environment for learning in, it prepares them for a more realistic life experience. Mr. Veccioni, the principle, has a great respect for the students and parents, and I feel that the kids have a lot of respect for him as well. The kids are happy and nice to each other, bullying is not an issue, and if it was, is would be dealt with effectively.
