Well, unfortunately the school district hasn't changed much in the past year. You still have people running the school based on WHO they are married too vs, their education or what they contribute to the school. Until there is better leadership that will take control of the district and what goes on within..Byron schools will continue to the joke of the community! And that is really too bad cuz this "little" town could have the BEST school district in the county regardless of how much the government takes away finacially.

While the new principal trys to be fair, he isn't. When an incident occurs everyone is disciplined even the victim. One teacher harasses past students by showing other students their work with their names on it, and making derogatory remarks. That teacher also doesn't like kids that are high achievers and will mark them down just to show her power. The school does nothing. They fire good coaches because the social elite kids don't like being told what to do. It is a good ole' boy network for sports. Make up the rules as they go along. Promotions are given on a basis of who you are married to or who is your friend, not on merit. Byron is eliminating Honor's programs. Apparently if your child is smart they should seek a different school for a appropriate education.

As a concerned/active parent, I find the teachers at BMS to be very good. I think the role of teachers is to educate children, not to be the parents. If parents would become more involved in their children's schoolwork, their children would not have any problems. Stop complaining about the teachers and do your job as a parent!! The new principal is wonderful. He is tough but fair. It's about time students and parents are made accountable.
