I highly recommend this school because first of all i am a student and i really think divine child is hard but to be completely honest i think it is better for it to be hard. you need to be challenged in order to learn. this school is a college prep school and trust me it will help you get to college. there are so many counselors that are willing to answer any of the questions you have or any problems you have. the academics and athletics are both great qualities of this school.

DC has suited my son well socially and academically....in the two areas where parent connections do not matter. However, we have found that it is EXTREMELY difficult for the parents from outside parishes to break into the DC social scene. The attention by the Administration to athletics is subpar. Many coaches are underqualified and ignorant to proper conditioning and nutritional support for athletes. Unless your child is the "Annointed One," he will struggle in athletics. Late Bloomers (esp. boys), avoid the frustration of pining away on the bench and stick to sports of individual merit like wrestling, CC and tennis. Those sports have excellent coaches and prior DC connections don't matter so everyone gets a fair shake. Academics are very good and will prepare the students well for college. Teachers are very involved and easy to approach. Counseling Staff has been cordial as well. Overall, great school but parents are very

Re: the super-political sports comment: It actually begins in DCES... in the 4th grade to be exact. If you are not an alum, a coach or have only an average to slightly above-average athlete, your child won't be given so much as a second thought. There's no desire to teach or develop young athletes. It's pathetic. And a very BIG mistake I can't undo.

All three of my kids graduated from DC, are now in college. Great prep school for college. Sports programs are more than a little bit political though. Cross Country is the best sports program there, Miff and Ms P rock !

Sub par school. Football and baseball are terrible--Super Political--Esp. baseball-If you're considering DC, 'Don't Do It'. There are many other better choices--for sports and academics.

My three kids all made it through - all are successful college grads, all employed, all do volunteer work to this day, all have advanced degrees. They are confident, mature, and self-reliant. To find the DC difference, listen to any graduate speak: they all act that way. All three of my kids participated in several extracurricular activities all the time. Our family moved to be closer to the school, the commuting was really getting to us!

My daughter struggled at Divine Child because it is a school with high academic standards. However, she is now in her second year of community college and thanks me for keeping her at DC High! She feels the teachers and the high standards really prepared her for continuing her education. She feels she is better prepared for community college than many of the other students she has met. Thank you DC!
