This school is the exact opposite of what this teacher has posted below. The Dean of Students is arrogant and has no control over the students. He may have been a good teacher but that's the extent of it. The behavior issues were still an issue and the academics is poor. Parents, seek elsewhere for your children.

Our Dean of Students has done an exceptional job of turning behavior issues around as well turning what used to be a high school into an elementary school. Academic expectations remain high as the school year comes to a close. Additionally, teacher morale pushes the students to achieve at a high level as they serve to better educate the youth of Detroit. Teachers are held to these same high standards and teach with a great deal of patience and love for the children, parents and community.

This school has really went downhill since the charter. The teachers do not care about the children and have no patience. They expect perfection from the children and not the same from the teachers. The middle school children has not had a math teacher all school year and it's ridiculous. The only form of discipline that is used is suspension for things such as getting out of their chair, talking in the lunch room, and other little things. The dean is students is a disgrace, along with the school.

Strong parent involvement and friendly atmosphere. Well maintained facility and security on site. Academics is wonderful, however the sports team are still building.
