I went to Garber in the 1970's. I thought it was painfully cliquey. The academics were awesome. It seems back then we were required to read a lot more classic books than my own sophomore Garber student. I am glad that there are more required science classes now and that study hall (SEMINAR as it its now called) is required.

I am a current Garber student, and I would like to state that while it has an excellent academic program, it can sometimes be a bit much. The councilors like to say 'We know you have a busy schedule, but...' and push us to do a lot. Community service, sports, performing arts etc...all on top of perhaps a job, family, and friends. Quite a bit. But there are enough nice people to suffer through it with. Teachers are generally amiable, I have been fortunate enough to not run into any grudging, sadistic teachers, and I definitely have my favorites: Dish, Bromberg, and Shannon.

I'm a current student, and i love garber. The teachers are top notch, student involvement is great, and the community support is just as well. The curriculum is very hard, but it proves better for the future if you stay on top of things. The block scheduling is a little hard to get used to, but its easier in the long run. If you're reading this because you're moving in from out of town, you should seriously consider garber. The other schools are just not as good academically.

Garber High School is considered one of the best schools in the Bay City, Essexville area but i disagree. The four years i spent there the teachers didn't help at all i had to get a tutor for multiple subjects. The other problem i had was that the students at Garber are to sheltered there is no diversity, such as in other schools like: Bay City Central, John Glenn and Western.

I really think this school is decent the classes are a little hard and usually are not fun, This school seems so much harder bc all the ones around us (wenona, central, bay arenac) Favorite teacher is dish or kloha some of the teachers need to be nicer, also, this school is very repitive espically history, walk in get lectured correct notes leave, Very very boring

I think that Garber is a great school but they do give way to much homework. the teachers are great but the subjects are horrible. My favorite teacher would have to be Mr.Barassi...........:)

the teachers give waaaaaaay too much homework and the students get in trouble when they dont have it all completed. I think we should be at least rewarded for what we have done... the standards are way to high at this school for the students. we have lives... and we dont have time to do that much work.
