Frankenmuth High School has prepared our 3 children extremely well for College. We've been very pleased with all of the academic offerings and the addition of AP courses. Our sports programs have been a great compliment to the academics they've learned at FHS. I would strongly encourage anyone thinking of moving to the area to consider FHS.
A top notch school that has high test scores and sends nearly all students on to higher education. Academics are a top priority and several AP classes have been added in past years. They offer a wide variety of athletics and extra-curriculars where students also perform well. The school is not huge, your child will not get lost. Parents are actively involved and they expect top results. The staff is young, enthusiastic, and they make good use of new technology in the classroom.
Frankenmuth High School and the district in general used to be a great place. Now it is a good place. The school board and superintendent are a very clandestine operation and ruthless. The past four years has proven that athletics are a mere inconvenience to them. They would love for it to go away. They are also entertaining the idea of open enrollment which is not a good thing. The teachers union is very strong and they are in the pocket of the admin and vise versa. If I were moving to the area I would check out Freeland, Nouvel or Valley Lutheran. Freeland is closed enrollment and they really have it all going on over there. Frankenmuth has taken a hard turn to the left.
Frankenmuth is a great place for students to get a quality education. My husband, myself, and our two children attended all of the schools in the district. We lived out of state when first married and returned to Frankenmuth to raise our family. The schools prepare students for college very well, and our children actually thought college was easier than our high school! The district graduates students who are dedicated to academics and ones that can manage time well. Working hard to get good grades is 'cool' here! No school is perfect, as anyone knows, but I believe that Frankenmuth schools works very hard to provide a great education in a mutually respectful environment.
I cannot believe that someone would say something negative about Frankenmuth. Our teachers teach us great values and instil hardwork ethics in us. You won't find a better school. We have the best grades and test results in the state. You go to school to get an education, and the best one you can get is at Frankenmuth. Our athetlics program is amazing and our teams do very very well, but they have to keep up their grades to stay on the team. All but a couple of my teachers have profoundly influenced my life. I know the importance of voting, fiscal responsiblity, hardwork, independance, and many other things as a direct result of my superior education. My friends from around the area all wish they came here FOR the great education. You want the best school for you children? Frankenmuth School District is it.
The academics, fine arts, and athletic programs are wonderful. Our family has had one student complete 4 years there at FHS, and one in the 3rd year, currently.
I think that Frankenmuth is a poor choice for several reasons. The quality of the athletic teams is high on the list...I see allot of undeserved arrogance and ego within the athletic department and this does not teach our young ones the proper values and virtues that is so vital. Hard work, grit, and tenacity are not qalities that are promoted and that is what is very important for success outside of the classroom and the playing field. The academics are good, but any student at any school can get a great education...Therefore, my biggest criticism is the overall culture and attitude within the district.
I have three children and my youngest one is graduating in 2006, and I really enjoy Frankenmuth High School. It have activities and they learn a lot. All my children have done well in school, and went on to better schools. The teachers are really nice and always keep you up to date with your child. I highly recommend this school.
