Teachers, the counselor and the principal are very concerned about students and are willing to stay late to work extra with students. There is some great technology available for the students to learn about computers. Students can also become part of the band program which wins many awards, especially once they get to the high school. All students in the middle school (and high school) get a free breakfast to make certain they start they school day right, and the lunch program was revamped this last year to give students more choices.

My child attends Godwin Middle and has for almost two years now. She has excellent caring teachers and is excelling in school with straight A's. She has been encouraged to excel in her studies by her teachers to be able to start taking High School level classes while she is still in Middle School. I have asked her about the fight and disrespect of teachers and swearing from students which was mentioned by another parent and she tells me that she has never seen anything like that at her school. She really likes her school and is doing well.

Yes. This also has to do with the parents of these teachers. They kids swear because they probably hear it at home. So they think it is right. It is not all a schools fault for the student dicipline. It all reflects back on the parents 90% of the time at Godwin Heights. I dont want to say that Godwin is a 'ghetto' school. But lots of the students live in those areas. And they see those actions happen everyday. So I think if your going to critize the school because they kids and how they act dont!! Its the parents who reflect on the kids and make them who they are! They are the ones to brought them up and the parents are the ones who teach there kids right and wrong!

I think that nobody should send their children. My son tells me that there are fights almost every other day. The teachers don't do any parent or student involvment. They think that all they have to do is learn. There are so many kids who swear at the teachers and they have horrible grades because of it.
