Don't judge a school by it's cover. This school might be the oldest in the area, but it has the reputation of being the best elementary school in the area with the best principal. Village also has the best teachers and the scores prove it. And behind every good school is a fantastic PTO with involved parents working hard to raise money for many programs to benefit the enrichment of its students.

Having relocated from a horrible Bush Blue Ribbon school, I was so happy to find this school which still uses textbooks, and teaches reading, writing and arithmetic.

Most Village parents will describe Village as a home away from home. I travel around the state of Michigan visiting all kinds of different schools and rarely have I seen the kind of community atmosphere that I have experienced firsthand at Village. The principal takes a hands on position to know students, parents and family members. He is one of the most kind and caring individuals I have met He's always concerned about families or students in need and offers his assistance continually. He listens to any classroom concerns and welcomes parental involvement in a wide variety of school activities. This type of concern for the student and community resonates throughout the building from the teachers to the support staff. Students learn more than the 3 R's, they are taught the importance of giving back and taking on personal responsibility. The academic lessons are strong too, as test results document.
