Woodside is a wonderful school! They care about what is best for all students! They challenge students in all academic areas!
My kids just start to go to Woodside school this past september we move from California and i feel like this is a great school, they learning a lot, i can tell the differnce, teachers give the attention they need, if they need some help with the kids they involved parents, I would recommend this school to anyone.
As a warm welcome was not presented, I was very disappointed with the facilty staff. I did not appreciate the fact that the teacher was unwilling to work with my child, in a way my child best understood. The teacher did not give my child the attention, or even the chance, to communicate my child's true academic knowledge; instead the teacher automatically makes an assumption that there is something wrong with my child and needs medical attention. Even before the principal had a chance to speak with my significant other or myself, as this concern was brought up to her attention, the tone of voice she implied was very defensive. Just because we have no other alternative, doesn't mean we should be subject to such poor education in which, I feel, as though the faculty doesn't care for the children trying to learn in this world that is new to them.
My son is in preschool at woodside and the teachers are amazing. He has started talking and opening up more. The principal Jon is a very caring person and will take the time to listen to your needs and concerns about your children. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.
The teachers care about children and take an interest in their indivividual learning goals. Both of my child's teacher (k & 2) are open, concerned and communicate frequently regarding my children's needs. There is a full range of specials (art, music, technology, gym, Spanish) for both my children. In the early elementary, there is good parent involvement, I think it dips a bit as the kids get older. I am seeing tremendous growth in my children, who have a ton of support at home from my wife and myself. I am also seeing amazing growth from the children with less home support (not a literacy-rich setting). Hard-working faculty, great support staff, knowledgable adminstration and multicultural/multisocial. Look beyond the test scores and see what is happening for children and families at Woodside. I am a strong supporter of this school.
