Sandy Hill is a great school. My daughter is currently enrolled and I have been impressed with everything from the teachers to the curriculum. Most of all, I feel confident that my daughter is getting the best education possible.

My son is has just started and is now in Kindergarten. I am pleased with how much he is learning and how excited he is about going to school. His teacher is doing an outstanding job! He totally loves riding the bus and forming new friendships with his classmates. His attitude about school is so positive and I hope it continues every year. I am not happy, however, about the fundraiser and feel that for his tender age of 5 that he should not be pressured into spending money or fundraising at this time. He is so easily influenced, as most are at this age, and I feel that he is too young to participate. I think that the older kids can raise money for the underfunded media room. What ever happened to our tax dollars? Our MI governor is letting our children down!

This will be our child's last year at Sandy Hill and we have been very pleased with his 7 years there. The staff is coninually working to provide the children with the best learning enviornment possible. The principal is professional, caring and innovative in her approach to education. The opportunities to explore music and art are numerous. Communication between staff and parents has been encouraged and made easily accessible. Even the superintendent makes regular visits to parent meetings. The parent club is open to all and very supportive of teacher needs. We would encourage new families to take a look at all Sandy Hill has to offer. We will miss having our son in the building.

What an excellent school! I have been very pleased with the teachers and the work they put in to meet the state's curriculum standards. I find the teachers have been very caring and go the extra mile to meet individual needs. Both my children are in the lower elementary and I have been so impressed with the teachers' effort, time, and dedication to bring the best out of each child. The parent club has come under new leadership this year and I have been very impressed at the excitement and energy they have brought to make Sandy Hill a better place. I highly recommend Sandy Hill for any child and family.

I have two children that attend Sandy Hill. They have both had excellent teachers. They have been in Jension Schools since pre-school. I am often suprised by the number of friendly staff members and especially the Principal that know me by name, considering the small amount of time I spend at the school. I am so greatful that we chose this school when we moved to West Michgan. I do not think we could have picked a better school for our children.

I am very disappointed in this school - if I had remembered we had school choice, my children would not be at this school, actually, after this year, they probably will not be. The principal feels it is too much of a burden to deal with any subject, she talks a good talk, but has very little action, several of the teachers are afraid to really speak up for fear the principal will come down on them. Parents are not involved, the parent club is run by people who have no concern for others. On one good note, there are some wonderful teachers - too bad they are not in a school that really supports them. Choose another elementary school in Jenison, I do not recommend Sandy Hill.

The school has different standards for different students they are far from fair. they act as if they are just a babysitter most of the time. most teacher act like they don't care other teachers care but not enough. they don't involve the parents enough. you have to keep asking and asking before they tell you your child is in need of help. you put your child in school and trust that they are there for an education and that if the child for example has trouble with math, I feel you should be informed BEFORE report cards come out.
