A good school, in general. My children have had mostly good teachers, and parents here are very involved. The current principal (2009-2012) is kind and loving toward all of the children but is unfortunately not a leader. He seems incapable or unwilling to make difficult decisions and has on occasion shown incredibly poor judgment. Example: a certain emotionally disabled child would throw tantrums, and the principal's answer to this was to tell the lunch moms that if there were any issues, they weren't to say anything to the child, but to instead go tell the principal about it. Well, they can't leave all the kids unsupervised just to handle one issue, so the kid in question would get away with anything, including hitting or taking things away from others. Even when the principal was called, there were zero consequences. It was scary for the other kids. (I wish I had room to describe two other examples of his poor judgment.) Furthermore, in my personal dealings with the principal concerning my child, he always rambles on and on pointlessly (adult ADHD?) and I have to continually steer him back to the topic at hand, but even then nothing gets accomplished. It's beyond frustrating.

So far the year is going well. The new principal seems to be on top of things and genuinely interested in the children. Love our kindergarten teacher!
