We are beyond happy with St. Genevieve School! The teachers ensure that each student is individually motivated and engaged in academic and religious curriculum. Class sizes are small, which is fantastic for learning! We have been so happy with the phenomenal teachers our child has had so far! Our child is exceeding the Iowa test average for the grade, thanks to St. Genevieve School teachers and staff! Additionally, the parents at St. Genevieve are like family! They volunteer at events at the school and participate in great fundraisers for the PSA. We are truly at home at St. Genevieve.

St. Genevieve Elementary School is a hidden gem in Livonia. The teachers and staff are all so wonderful and really care for the students. They install the values you really want your children to have in life. St. Genevieve's is a Caholic school that incorporates faith based teachings in all their courses. They have wonderful programs, like Art Club, Chess Club, National Honer Society, Science Club, Lego Club, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scout. There is something for all age levels. St. Genevieve's is the best decision we made for our children and love all of the teachers!!!!

My child has been attending the school for 8 years. With one exception, the teachers are outstanding. The only complaint that I have about the school is the principal.

My child has been going here for many years, and I love the school. The only reason I did not give the school 5 stars is due to the current principal - with a better principal the school would be a 5-star school.

Great Staff and wonderful kids. The classroom size on average is small so every kid gets the attention that they need from the teachers. Not to mention there is a lot of clubs and activities that the kids can be involved in.

I attended St. Genevieve over 30 years ago, from the 3rd grade through the 6th grade. My experience at the school provided me with not only a better spiritual understanding and wonderful education, but also a close-knit environment where I established life-long friendships.

I attended St. Genevieve from 1st through 6th grade and I received a superior education. When our family moved after the 6th grade, I attended a blue ribbon public middle school, and I was academically far ahead of many of my classmates. I attribute that, in retrospect, to the strong fundamentals and great learning environment I had at St. Gen's.

As a student of Saint Genevieve since second grade (I am now in eighth), I have experienced a great, faith-filled education. St. Gens really allows your learning potential to go above and beyond. I love the St. Genevieve family. Our school is a small school am everyone knows each other. It is very nice, because you never will feel left out. You always have someone to lean on. St. Genevieve is a very small catholic school. We have about 130 students. The teachers are excellent and have allowed me to excel in my work and in my faith. I am very happy with St. Genevieve and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

I have 2 kids at St. Genevieve, they both started there since pre-school. The teachers in pre-K, Kindergarten and first grade are awesome! I believe that what I teach to my kids at home gets a follow through at school. The other parent reviewer is right, volunteers know most of the students by name and vice versa. The PSA Parent School Association devotes so much effort, time and dedication for the good of St. Gen. and the students. I can my kids, I have 3 boys, graduating primary school here. And by the way, we have a great principal Ms. Tonnissen and magnificent ofc mgr. Mrs. Slaviero, keep up the good job!!!

I am a parent of 2 students at St. Genevieve and have been there for 7 years. Class sizes average about 20/class. Some classes are larger and some are smaller. My kids are 1 of 22, and 1 of 17 in their class. One of the major reasons we chose this school years ago was due to the class size......and that has remained consistent over the last 7 years.

I am so happy that both my kids are @ St. Gens! They are getting an exceptional faith-based education and I love that we are part of the St. Gen community which includes both the church and school! The teachers care about the students and try to come up with out-of-the box thinking in teaching concepts to the kids. I would recommend this school to everyone!! Check out their website: saintgenevieve.org !!

William Yeats once said, Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. The staff at St. Genevieve light fires and inspire children to explore new and exciting concepts daily. We have two children at St. Genevieve School, and we could not be happier! Everyone, from support staff to personnel, is extremely kind and caring. We would (and have) recommend this school to any family.

Our daughter is extremely happy at St. Genevieve, and we are very impressed with her progress. The teachers and staff are all extremely competent, nurturing, and knowledgeable. We appreciate all of the support they have given to our daughter while fostering her interest in education. We would recommend this school to anyone!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
