Merrill Community Schools is a wonderful school to send your children to. I am a graduate of Merrill Community Schools. The good educational foundation I received there helped me receive a Bachelors and a Masters degree. My 2 children now attend Merrill and are receiving the same quality education I received.

I am currently going into my senior year at Merrill. Every year I have felt the academics decline. I feel that I had to think more in middle school than I do now in high school. The standards are set very low in classes, especially spanish and english. Also, I have run out of classes to take my senior year. I only have to take three classes this year because I am co-oping, but I still don't have any classes to take. I'm trying to work a way around taking my senior english class and doing it either independent study or dual-enrolling in community college for it. I want to just get my one required class done with and get the heck out of here!

I am a former graduate of Merrill High School and currently have two children attending the school. I think they have an excellent academic program. Although they don't offer as many clubs & sports as larger schoools, every child is encouraged to participate in sports.

I've been in Merrill for 16 years and it is sad to see the decline in academics (Mostly in the Jr. High & High School). Merrill has some great teachers but the decline is there. Some of it has to do with discpline and expectations they have for the students. The kids know they can get away with things and still be able to play sports with two E's. Merrill is in dicline and they need to do something or they will continue to loose studetns. I love sports but most parents want a school that has good academics and Merrill is suffering in this area.

Merrill has an excellent Elementary School and great teachers at all three levels. It's a small school, so it doesn't have all the sports and clubs of a class A school, but the teaching attention and parent/community involvement more than make up for it. My girls have had a great experience so far. Also, you can talk to the principals and/or Superintendant just about any time you need to. With 800+ kids in the whole school, they know you and your children very well, and really try to help.

I have been in Merrill for about 15 years. In those years I have seen academics decline in many ways. I'm amzed the number of students who struggle with basic math and students who do not know how to read. This is the high school level. I have been very concern with the high education at Merrill.

As a Merrill graduate, I found the teachers helpful, all the time & the principal <Mr. Smith> was always helpful. The teachers make themselves very available for the students, as does the rest of the faculty. Merrill may be a small community, but it was a wonderful one while I was there.

I like going to Merrill Schools because I feel safe when I'm here and don't worry about anything bad happening. I also love it because it's small enough to where you know everybody and get along good. The teachers are always nice and give you help when you need it. I also like the after school activities we have, even if we aren't the best we still try and have fun doing it. And last I like the learning enviroment it's calm and always fun!

I have been very pleased with the Merrill School District. Our youngest child had a learning disability and they have worked very hard to do whatever was necessary to help him do the best he could in school.

I had a hard time getting help from leaders in the school when faced with a difficulty with the transportation system. The teachers are very enthusiastic and motivational.
