The math and science curriculum is not very good; however, the English department has many qualified teachers, and the school offers many AP classes. The technology in the school is out-of-date, but the district does not have any money to replace the computers or TVs. Many current teachers are now also under stress from having so many classes to teach, almost all of which contain more than thirty students, after there have been so many lay-offs. This affects their teaching, as they seem to be less about their job.

Of, course, parents are the number-one ingredient in making a successful student, and our child had actively involved parents, as did all of her large group of friends. From kindergarten through graduation from Northville High School (and yes, there were a couple of bad teachers along the way...but we worked around them, talked to them, got outside tutoring, etc.) the teachers and administrators of Northville were outstanding. The English faculty at the H.S. is especially stellar. Every one of a very large group of friends is now a college grad, most with advanced professional degrees, and gainfully employed. Northville Schools gave them the base, and is still the focus of many happy memories. I am an educator myself (in another district) and I see the difference, very clearly. I am happy to have lived in a community that understands what a good education really is and supports the delivery of that experience.

NHS is a great school. I have had one son graduate from here with a 3.9 GPA, and currently two daughters in grades 10 and 12, both whom have just gotten 4.0's. I am very much pleased with the teachers and administration of this school and how they have worked with all three of my children.

This school offers everything that a student needs to be successful. I have had 2 kids go thru this system and could't be happier. The grauation rate and the colleges that the students are accepted to should be proof to anyone that Northville is a first class school. Extra curricular activities are extensive and top notch.

I've had three children pass through the halls of NHS. I have come to know many of the teachers and administrators over the past eight years and am overall pleased with the school.

I think that NHS is a great school, sertainley better than Novi. Everyone if they put the effort forth can get good grades. The teachers are very accesible and they truly care about the students. The choirs are amazing and the curriculums are challenging and require time and effort, but they aren't impossible.

I tried talking to them many times about my child skipping, and they didn't do nor did they care at all about it. There are way too many kids and the curriculum is really strict to the point where most kids just end up getting by.

The math program is not the greatest, but there are many exceptional qualities to this school. First off, the seminar period is an amazing asset to most students for who many need extra help in a class or to make up a test but do not have time before or after school. The block scheduling is nicely laid out and applied well. The longer class periods greatly help with science labs and tests. I personally find the block scheduling helps me to be less stressed with homework as I have at least two days to complete it and during the time I am able to ask my teacher during seminar for help if necessary. Second, there are the great music programs. The choir and band programs are quiet large, with 1 in 4 students in choir.
