C. B. Sabbath School is a wonderful Middle School!!! It has a staff that really cares for the students and has a very "family" type atmosphere. The students feel safe and always have a say in what types of activities go on in the school. The principal is a young man, Mr. Cox, with an over load of energy and love for the kids and teachers. I would recommend to ANYONE this school for their child. This school is a small school with only 245 students. Just want you to know --- SABBATH SCHOOL ROCKS!!!

As a parent who had four students attend C.B. Sabbath school, I think it does a great job in educating it's students. My daughters were very good students and were challenged academically. My sons were not very gifted students, however. The teachers were wonderful in how they made sure they were successful despite their limitations. Sabbath is the best school in the area bar none.

This school truly cares for it's students. Teachers spend alot of their own time assisting children when they have a difficult time with a subject. They not only care about their academics but also about their personal lives. The tteachers and staff have taken up collections and delivered food and clothing to students homes who are in need. The teachers are top notch having a great deal of knowledge in their subject matter and can prepare students for higher grades.

8th graders had a great time at the Holocaust Memorial Center. They got to experience history, they represented our school with pride. Great Job-Mrs. Ruppel

About the tests

In 2013-2014 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. Currently, GreatSchools' ratings reflect 2013 MEAP results; ratings will be updated after 2014 Michigan Merit Examination (MME) results are released. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. In addition, they have recalculated past years' results using these new standards for proficiency, making the above year-over-year results comparable.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
