This school has no guide lines in teaching. The students are NOT being taught what they need to know to prepare them for college. PLEASE CHECK AROUND BEFORE YOU CHOOSE THIS SCHOOL!!!!This school needs to get with the times.

We heard good and bad about this school before we enrolled but we thought the initial interview went well so we ended up enrolling our child. Now I have to say DONT be fooled, especially about the misleading reviews posted here! MANY issues go unresolved because problems are ignored or buried. My child told me many days they don't even get to all their subjects because 1 teacher, teaches all 4 grades in 1 classroom. Some major subjects they only hold class roughly ONCE A MONTH! God IS important in our lives, but SO is my childs education. Find a school that meets state requirements with a curriculum that will be followed. The staff is all related to each other, which created many problems in itself. Keep looking; plenty of real Christian schools in the area.

Cross of Glory is a very special school to our family. The teachers care about each child's needs and they learn what is most important, the Bible and our Savior. My children love attending Cross of Glory!

We love Cross of Glory Lutheran school! Our son has gone there since Kindergarten and is 2nd grade there, now. Our daughter is in her second year of preschool at Cross of Glory. I cannot say enough good things about the teachers and atmosphere at this school. Christ is the center of every day and my children are flourishing under the care of these excellent Christian teachers. We drive 20 miles one way to send our children to this school. The high of my son's days are usually the math facts that he learned that day. He has fun learning at Cross of Glory!

We started our oldest at the school for Preschool in 2005, and are still at the school today. He is in 6th grade, we have another son in 3rd grade. We have been very happy with the school. We like the individual attention each student receives. The teachers CARE, they format the curriculium to meet the needs of the students. This teaches my children the bible in addition to everything they would learn at public school. The teachers and other students are like our family. I cannot say anything negative about the school. We LOVE Cross of Glory!

We were enormously disappointed with this school. After a month attending our child would cry every morning begging to stay home with my wife. We thought this was merely child/mother separation anxiety but after several months we received a phone call from another child s parent informing us the teacher not only showed no compassion to the special medical needs of our child but was excessively harsh and yelled loudly many many times at our child. We did not understand how this could be in a Christian school and we asked to meet with the school s principal although he seemed unaware what was happening in the classrooms and recess time. The teacher refuted claims of mistreatment or being prejudice but recommended our child repeat her class in the following year. However we immediately removed our child and enrolled in another Christian school. Our child is no longer afraid of the teacher and we thank God that a concerned parent made us aware of the poor situation at this school. Fortunately the new school worked with our child so repeating Kindergarten was not necessary. Today our child loves going to school to learn about God and has progressed immensely academically.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
