Outstanding teachers with heavy parental involvement. This school has really taken off with new principal in place.

How can a great school become even greater? Add a new, energized principal that truly cares for his school and school community - from students and parents, to support staff and teachers. Our school sets extremely high standards for its students and staff, and it shows. Check us out!

Communication with parents is lacking, as well as the actual 'teaching a child to be a student' is not happening. First Grade was the only good year out of three, we are leaving.

Amazing program and involved caring staff. All you could ever hope for in a school for your children.

This school does not teach a second language. They have no teachers educated in Gifted Education and no Gifted Education program. A shame for citizens paying tax dollars and can't get their child educated

Ms. Trenchbull from Matilda is the principal here. I have never met such a woman in my life. She is horrible to students, staff, and parents.

Keith Elementary is truly an excellent school. The staff are knowledgeable in current best practices and seem to truly care about their students. Parent involvement is high. Great community!

The Keith community is outstanding. Teachers and Staff are all excellent, caring individuals. The parent involvement is very high. Keith is a GREAT school for K-5 children.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
