Im a student at new groningen and they have awesome and helpful teachers that guide your way through the classes. There is a new playground on the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade ground. There are extra classes for special children which my friend goes to and shes all caught up with the rest of the class. The school is very safe. No children are allowed to open any doors for anyone and you(visitor) will need to check in at the office. New Groningen has lock down drills, fire drills, and tornado drills just incase anything would happen to anyone. Ive been going here for 5 years and this has been a great last year! i don't want to leave! So if you are looking for a new school come join the fun with us at New Groningen....

We have a special needs child at New Groningen we have encountered nothing but 2 years of dishonesty and communication problems with the staff, including the principal and teachers. We are disappointed and very unhappy with our experience with Zeeland public schools and would not recommend the special ed programs that they offer. Due to these issues we had to remove our children from this school.

We have been very pleased with New Gronigen. The principal is a hands on manager and always accessible. He gets involved and knows each child by name. The teachers are knowledgeable, care about kids and communicate well. Our kids are getting a good education- academically and from a citizenship/moral standpoint. Other programs are available- art, music, PE, and computer tech. My only negative comment about these programs is that they are not being offered as routinely as they used to be. I suggest you go to this school's website to view programs and online resources available to round out the educational experience for children. Parent involvement for school programs is encouraged although I would like to have more opportunities to help in the upper elem classroom.
