My son should be going to Gideon Pound but instead he is still going to sky oaks elementary school. My son needed a school that was easy to get around from class to class. Gideon Pond is a good school and hear good things about it. This school is a lot harder to get around with two levels school. If you need title one help they went the parent to apply for SSI for their child in order to get help after being accepted to receive SSI . By using the child SSI money for getting paid for the tittle one services for reading. When there is movie night in the gym for the family night you have to pay 1.00 at the door and pay for snacks. Then sitting on the floor not setting up folding chairs to be used during the movie night. This school is using the wrong way to make money for their school. Check out their web site for grades you will see how many teachers per a grade like 5th has only 2 teachers. Then the second grader has to use the rooms that was build in the 70's and the rooms are small. There are ants in the hallway for the 2nd graders halls. The lunch room is small in size that you can't have a parent or anyone to eat lunch with you for one day.

This school is a great, safe school and i appreciate the effort to education the parents and maintenance associates risk. They encourage my kid to a better education resource and now i feel better about my children's grades at the end of years.

A truly great school. I have had to divorce, for domestic violence reasons, and the school has supported any and all decisions I make, and allowed a variance, (because we moved out of Gideon Pond zoning) so my kids would not have to change schools. With so many changes in their little lives it was nice to know the school cared enough to help us through this most difficult time in our lives. My kids are really learning, getting all the extra help necessary,if needed, and really thriving. A truly great school!
