I attended Bryn Mawr elementary from kindergarten to 5th grade and then continued on to Anwatin Middle School and then to South High School. I had a great experience at both Bryn Mawr and Anwatin. It exposed me to different cultures and learning styles. I would recommend these schools to any parents who want their children to grow up in a diverse and supportive environment.
If you want your child to be safe and cared for at school this is the place. If you want your child to be looked at as an individual and the needs they have this is the school. If you want a great PTA this is the school. If you want an outstanding staff that workes well passed their duty day to do the best for your child this is the school. If you want your child to do Taiko drumming, cross country skiing, band, other artist, participate in a chinese program, after school help and get the best education they can at elementary Bryn Mawr is the place for your child.
Bryn Mawr is a good school but good school does not automatically equal good fit. My child had tested above his age/grade level, but I felt he needed the social experience of kids his own age. As a result he is bored in class. In addition, he does whatever he can to get his teacher's attention. Now his teacher says that she believes he is on the line for special education and the principal has asked that I have their psychologist look at him for ADHD. I had doctors recommended by outside sources check him out and they found nothing wrong. In fact, they believe he is gifted. Until enrolling him at Bryn Mawr, we had no problems in school. He was always considered a model student.
I have a child at this school and I haven't had a problem with it yet. The school is excellent for communticating with the parents regarding any concerns that they may have or answering any questions that you may have. I definitely recommend this school.
This is an exceptional school! It offers a variety of programming, and has very active parent and volunteer support. Bryn Mawr also partners with many community resources in order to enrich the student experience. We have looked at several private schools in the area, and have settled at Bryn Mawr. The teachers are truly committed, inspired, and remarkable. This school is diverse, and highly functioning.
