School offers several programs in Elementary School for LD Students, however once in Middle School it is limited to only a select number of students. It is my understanding there is only 1 teacher that helps the LD Student therefore space is very limited. Also, there are students that may need help, but can not receive it without having documentation of LD. There should be more than 1 teacher that can assist students with learning & attention issues. The after school tutoring is not offered for every class, and again is offered only at select times/days. In other words, can be very hard to workout with the Teachers (if they even offer tutoring). Some "offer" it, but normally at random times and days.

I love teaching at Washington School. It is exciting to me to be able to work with other teachers who are fired up about their subjects. Not only do they teach well, but they also care about the students.

The teachers generate a nurturing environment. There is none of the 'pushiness' often seen in private schools. The teachers are very good and committed to their students.

Most all administration and teachers have Master's degrees. The cost is comparable to other private schools. Honors classes are available. All required subjects. Accredited. I had two children to graduate from WS, one in honors and one barely getting by, but both had a well-rounded education. Both were very prepared for college and beyond.

Community ratings and reviews do not represent the views of GreatSchools nor does GreatSchools check their accuracy or verify the reviewers' identities. Use your discretion when evaluating these reviews.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
