This school is all about memorization and rote learning. This school equates rigor with how fast it can race through the ABeka curriculum and get from the first page of the book to the back.

I am a proud 1977 graduate of Leake Academy. All 3 of my children (2 are finished) attended LA. LA is very dear to my heart. I always felt my children were safe and that the teachers cared for them. My last child is in the 8th grade and known by the teachers because of his older brothers. Awesome school!

I graduated from LA in 1977 and currently have 3 sons in school there. I love everything about the school!

We have been with the school since 1st day of k4 and my child loves it. The teachers are very friendly and allow complete interaction and involvement with your child's education. It seems that there is just not the disciplinary problems here as other schools in our area, that I have heard of. I think that academically, using the specific curriculum that they do and having well manner very qualified teachers that really seem to love our child, makes it a very positive learning environment that allows the students to grow spiritually and mentally. As well as good roll models. They have free thinking and are very well at common reasoning. Communication is not the best thing at the school, but nothing is perfect, there is always room for improvement. I love the fact that my child was writing in script by 1st grade, print was learned independently sooner.

I graduated from Leake Academy in 1982. I have sent three children there as well. One has graduated. Two are in junior high. I can not say enough about this school. After graduating from LA, and attending an area college, my oldest son's professors could all pick out the LA guaduates because of there ability and attitudes. Sports are a way of life at Leake. The spirit is something you and see and feel when you walk in the door. It's almost a religion. I would recommend this school to anyone that is interest in giving their child a great school experience, and most likely the best education available in the area.

Our son attended 1st grade at LA. Academically I feel that the school has done a good job. The bus option is great for those who live in outlying areas. However they could improve their communication to parents/families that did not grow up in this area. There were programs and events for which we did not have enough information, and we had to rely on other parents to give us appropriate advice. Also I am not in favor of Kindergarten and 1st grade children writing in cursive - when do they learn to print?

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
