Kellison Elementary School

I have two children who attend Kellison Elementary and we have been nothing but impressed! The staff and administration are wonderful and it is a Caring Schools Community that support the events happening at Rockwood South Middle School as well as Rockwood Summit High School. The school has a buddy program where younger kids are paired with a child in an upper grade to do activities and my kids love it! In fact, they want to go to school everyday and I could not ask for more! To me, that says it all!

I went to Kellison many years ago. As a parent of a child that goes to Kellison, I do have one complaint. For parents that are divorced, the parent the child does not live with is kept out of the loop. Staff is not very good with updating the non-custodial parent regarding behaviors, school functions, etc. It would be nice to be kept in the loop.

The school can be just a little bit better my concern is some of the teacher attitude and how they handle things that go on in the school. I can count on my hands who are good teacher as far as enjoying teaching and who don't.

I have two children at Kellison. It is a wonderful school that really encourages families to be involved in their children's education. The teachers are enthusiastic and commited to educating every student.

I am a parent of 1 child currently at Kellison. I also have an older child at a nearby Rockwood high school who had also gone to Kellison. I can tell you that I am totally impressed with the education that my children received at Kellison and would not have even considered sending them anywhere else. Kellison provides a safe, caring environment for children to learn and also gives them the a great education base to be successful in their future education.

I have 2 children at Kellison. I am very impressed with the caring and supportive atmosphere that exists. Their is good support and communication between staff and parents. I also feel that the teachers challenge the children to stretch themselves academically. We love this school! Kellison just scored in the top 10 in state of MO for communication arts!

I love this school. Each day I send my little ones off, I feel certain that they are safe and happy. My daughter feels so special, but I know that her teacher treats all her students as 'special ones'. Just walking in the building and being greeted by the friendliest most compassionate staff (principals, teachers, lunch ladies, counselor, etc.)gives me a peace of mind that cannot be beat. It's an extended part of our family I feel blessed to have for my children.

This is a wonderful school. I have had children attending Kellison for the past 9 years. Kellison has come a long way the past 4 years in acceleration and student/parent/teacher relations. The staff is really wonderful. It is evident that all of the teachers really care about the children. One of the strongest assets of Kellison is the staff for special classes (gym, music, and art). The four ladies that run these departments are fantastic with the kids and really make learning fun.
