Winnwood Elementary School

Although it appears the teachers care about their students, many of the students continuously misbehave in class, in the hallways and in the cafeteria and do not listen to the teachers/adult. Compared to observations in other schools, this is unacceptable behavior and it is noticeably difficult for other students to pay attention.

The staff at Winwood is wonderful, from the principal on down. They're great with kids and parents alike. My son had a few big social issues when he first started going, and each year they've patiently worked with both of us to help him understand how to deal with people better. Dr. Cocolis is a principle like none I've ever met, willing to take time out to talk to any parent or child that needs it. Thanks Winwood staff - my son and I look forward to the 09 -10 school year!

Both my children have go to Winnwood since they were 5 years old. Winnwood is a school where the children come first. Each child is encouraged to do their personal best without being labeled as the smart or dumb kids. The teachers are highly skilled and work hard to bring out the best in each child. The principal is kind and knows each child by name. She is a great example of a leadership. Thank you Winnwood for bringing out the best in my children and giving them the encouragement and confidence they need to go out into the world! '
